As I waited calmly for my parfait, I noticed something strange in the corner of my eye. A smile twisting with delight and pleasure, so much so that mana was subconciously radiating out and disturbing my [omni detection]. Turning my ahead, there was no one there. We were seated near the windows at a table that aligned with the outside of the shop, basically the left was our outside and every other direction was the shop we were in. I had previously been facing inwards into the shop as I was talking to the waitress, to the left side of my eye was the twisting smile. But when I turned left to face my front, there was nobody there, behind Fez and James were empty seats. Was I going crazy? Or could it have been from outside?
Well it was too late to chase such a suspicious individual. We had been in the dungeon for a couple hours, my body wasn't tired at all but my mind was. So I needed to rest from all the annoying stuff anyway. It couldn't have been Fez or James, they were talking to each other at the time, they would have noticed before I did if that was the case. Writing it off as a delusion, I turn to face Iyori in order to possibly start a conversation while waiting for our food...
What I saw was horrid. A grotesque form slides itself around in mid air, as if it was angry, it further exerted its existence and sent all my senses haywire. The creature was just multiple shades of dull colour with multiple animal like textures that was a mix of fur, slime, feathers, scales and rough skin. Tch! In the cafe?! Using 'wrath', I stopped time but the mental attack still continued. Before I noticed it, a disgusting looking tentacle from the ugly creature was lodged into my right eye socket. My mana forcibly sucked out with the tentacle. Time manipulation had absolutely no effect on it what the hell was this thing. The only silver lining was that it hadn't attacked yet, but I felt like it was sucking something else that was precious... Time! Using [omni detection], my nigh infinite lifespan was somehow being distorted by this creature. Guh! Grabbing the tentacle with my right hand, I forced the mana getting sucked to activate the skill [Abyss control] inside the creature and explode from the inside. There were no more traces remaining, so I stood up from my table to look around if anyone else got affected.
... There was no one else. Everyone had disappeared when my senses went haywire. But I was still in stop time, light had stopped moving and I was moving around based on [omni detection]. They couldn't have been taken away... The were only 2 possibilities, the enemy could counter time manipulation somehow or that this was just an illusion. Really, both had the same amount of chance to be the answer. Usually an illusion had a 'point of origin' where mana was gathered to sustain the illusion. The caster of the illusion would stay around to ensure the 'point of origin' was properly protected so I could either kill 2 birds with one stone or get lured into a trap.
Walking around the now empty city, I searched for the 'point of origin' with my [omni detection]. It roughly had a range that could cover the whole city, so I was checking the outer areas since I could establish it wasn't in the city at the cafe. If I wanted to, I could inject more mana and pretty much cover the whole continent and maybe more, but there may be so much information that my brain would jsut implode. Wait... [Abyss control] can pretty much pile the information like a server and filter out the most relevant result. Combining the 2 skills in this new technique, I covered the whole galaxy in the span of a minute...
This wasn't an illusion, there was someone else besides me that could mess with time. Since time was the main gimmick of 'wrath', it could only be an origin class. Did the demon lord come back? As soon as that thought entered my mind, something entered my field of detection. Not it wasn't just one thing, it was many... A million?! Looking up where the strange creatures were entering my detection from, it was raining. Millions of the same previous grotesque form were raining down as if it had been the end of the world. Though it was a little lucky, for some unknown reason everyone had already disappeared from the place. So at least that don't have to face this eldritch level horror.
Using [Abyss control] I sent the same amount of shadow stakes at the grotesque rain. It seemed like victory was guaranteed at first sight, but after a tiny portion of the grotesque were wiped out, the rest of the shadow stakes shattered on contact like glass. For some reason they had spatial distortion abilities now. If it was merely nullfication, the stakes would either implode in a bright light or just disappear, not completely shatter. The shadow stakes that I've kept using had been used with so much mana that they were comparable with space severing barriers, a barrier that blocked space itself would be the only thing capable of destroying the shadow stake by force and basically shatter them like glass since I send the shadow stakes at extremely high speeds.
Using control space, I opened a hole in their barrier and send a wave of [death]. It was the only thing that couldn't be blocked. I was only able to defeat it because its only flaw was that it was single target and couldn't kill all my souls. It felt more like I've defeated the wielder of [death] instead of the demon king, demon king was an origin class, it represented a vital part of the world that moved the laws of the world itself. The demon king probably had much more skills originating from his class but he was overdependant on [death] and ultimately lost in that realm where time space stopped existing.
Spreading out a large sheet of darkness from the hole in their space barrier, the sheet of darkness had [death] applied on it like a gel that destroyed everything that got close. Eventually half of them were destroyed before it got close. That was an emergency, so I thought to use my other authority. Using [Conquest], I overrule their spiritual defences and fused all their souls into one before using [death] to destroy them. The thing was that fusing their souls took too much time, it was more of me twisting them together like rope and joining them into a single mass before destroying said mass.
The only problem was that only 1 body was destroyed and roughly 499 999 dead grotesque bodies were raining down. To say the least, it was quite disgusting as it flooded the land with an unknown greenish black liquid. Using [Abyss control] to form a barrier, I brought myself into the air with large construction beam size legs of darkness.
