A few days ago, an unfamiliar face reached out to me. Her name was Iyori reines , I had apparently saved her once before but didn't remember. According to her, high level monsters had ambushed her party and it nearly got wiped out. There were around 5 of them and only 2 of them survived. The monsters had high tier camouflage that were barely outside the range of their ranger, a second was more than enough for an adventurer to fall. The other 2 tried to fight but were beaten quite easily. This left the last 2, a healer and mage. Each of these adventurers apparently had 2 of those monsters assassinate them, just as the last 4 was about to finish the deed, an incredible wind blew past.
It turned out that my [mana detection-tier 4 or 5] was enough to crack through the camouflage skills, I was actually just on a run to wipe out every monster I see for exp. Who knew it could save someone, in fact I thought people would be more mad since I'm basically stealing their prey. That would explain the strange looking warm hearted faces outside the dungeon entrance. I can only conclude that they've worked a method around my regular grinding and just left me to my own devices. Of course, the fact that I could pull of this feat scared the more roudy types into staying passive. I would avoid fighting myself too seeing as I was basically a walking calamity.
Iyori had reached out to me seeking help once again, but the other party member had secluded themselves somewhere, unable to move on... I could only guess Iyori's thoughts from this viewpoint. Did she want me to save her last remaining party member? Or does she actually want to move on and prioritise her own mental health first? Well, it would eventually come out with time, no point dwelling on something that should solve itself.
"You probably have already known their names but this is James, Fez and Kurisu. They have rather rare classes like sun warrior, moon goddess and Calculation lord, but we'll work our way around the class balance if we have a healer like you."
"... Sorry. Haha! It's making me nervous just standing here in front of a group some people could only dream to talk to. " (Iyori) Imaginary beads of sweat roll down the side of her head.
" How does tomorrow sound? We'll have you get used to your new party. Though I don't think I have any more use for dungeon expeditions, you guys could probably benefit from it. "
"Eh~~ That's just you be bugged as normal. Not needing to level anymore... "(Fez)
Bugged huh? I guess from their point of view, I'm very out of the norm. Well it's what happens when you reach the top, I can only lament that I can't grow any stronger.
" Oh come on Fez, don't need to be so blunt. Emily's always been special." (James)
"I don't want to hear your~ opinion on this matter! Especially since you're so biased ." (Fez)
James could only smile wryly at her statements as what she said wasn't inaccurate. Leaving them to their banter, I continued to chat a small while with Iyori about what she will do from here on out. It wasn't uncommon for adventurers to retire due to the dangerous nature of the job. I can only hoped that she doesn't regret whatever she chooses.
"I think now's the time to head back home. I'm exhausted. Hrmm~" Stretching my back, a little groan escapes as I look to the rest of the party to see their response.
"I guess it's already late. If Emily-chan's tired, we shouldn't force it this late. Let's end it for today." (James)
"It sure was fun hanging out today." (Fez)
"I'm glad I got to you meet you guys! I think it was worth it, forming a new party to move on from the past. I hope I meet your expectations tomorrow!" (Iyori)
"Mm."
Going back home with the usual method of [control space] for instant teleportation , I layed down on my bed thinking about my day. I didn't know school could be so lively if I stopped focusing on my work. Maybe now, I should let loose and stop worrying about things. Falling asleep from exhaustion, I could feel a layer of cloth covering me. Though I wouldn't die from temperature easily... no... now that I can relax, it shouldn't be about whether I could die from it but my comfort. It's dangerous to get used to comfort, but now's the chance.
Waking up the next day, I went through my usual morning routine. Dragging myself off the bed, I crawled my way to the bath tub before using my arm strength to throw myself in. Using the edge of the bath tub as a ledge, I pulled my body weight and swung myself horizontally. It hurt my head, but with this much vitality in my stats, the pain quickly disappeared faster sound. I don't want to destroy the bath tub so I'm not going to test pain tolerance with it, so I turn on the shower head after dropping my clothes to the side.
Where I start washing first is a secret~
Anyway after that was all done, I decided to choose a new outfit. A preference of mine was to wear lavender or other colours similar to purple. I had always gone with a purple or teal dress with a cardigan and some armour, but maybe I should dress up a little differently. Hmmm~ a black miniskirt and uhh white shirt? Maybe I'll try goth lolita in the future, though it will probably never happen. Picking up my purple jacket, I headed down the stairs to the kitchen.
Again, I could not stress this enough. It wasn't part of Kurisu's job to make breakfast, I don't know why she's so motivated, but I'm very grateful for her service.
***(Kurisu PoV)
I...have a secret... Every morning I make breakfast for Emily-sama. After all breakfast is a very important meal that gives energy for the rest of the day. It was basically vital to Emily-chan's growth, so you could say I'm a good human being... Sadly, that's not the case. Everytime she bites into her breakfast happily, her face is just too cute~ In order to see that face every morning, I work hard to
make breakfast as delicious as possible.
As a child, I thought Emily-chan would have like things that were really sweet, but there was a strange time where she requested me to add less sugar into the food... Maybe times have changed and kid's have more normal taste in food, or maybe Emily-chan...-sama just has more mature taste. Well I'm just glad she didn't make me completely give up making breakfast for her~
After finishing her breakfast, she would cutely get off the chair and say "I'm off to school~"
