Chapter 106 - 52 - walk in the park

Using [manipulate shadow], rows of stakes surfaced from the ground before dissipating back into mana. There didn't seem to be a limit to the mana negation, that meant that I had to take down the middle aged guy first. Due to my ridiculous agility, I hadn't noticed at the start, but one of the zombies was able to reduce the speed of my movement to a considerable degree. Yes, this was my reduced speed, it still easily surpassed that of my opponents. Then again, running around would release the zombies lock on me, so it never got to a point where it was too much for me to handle.

Well, I couldn't hold back in such a battle. Bending my legs down a little, an explosive pressure was given off with me as the centre. Just from my blood flowing, shockwaves were radiating out of my body. Since I couldn't use magic much, something instantaneous like [shadow step]'s teleportation should be okay. Lunging from my position, I easily went extremely far into space, before teleporting right behind the middle aged guy. Just as I tried to punch the back of his neck, my arm inverted before making contact, and a wall of an unknow material formed in front of me. This material was strange as it's properties was constantly changing, it felt like it sperated space itself and was a tear in the fabric of reality. Using [shadow step], I teleported half my arm off into the other side, aiming at the guy who was now facing me to keep his guard up.

Due to being seperated from my body, the speed was no longer being carried by me, with nowhere to go, the rampant energy erupted and caused a massive explosion. Basically a nuclear bomb had been dropped on the other side. Collecting the rings on the ground, I put them on before inspecting their effects.

Crystal tentacles from all directions swarmed into the air before diving down at me. Now that the enemy's annoying magic negation was gone, I created a shadow scythe, rending all the crystals. When the crystals had dropped on the ground and the view was cleared, the enemy had disappeared. Tch, how annoying. The enemy was moving through the ground, as if mass didn't exist. It was similar to swimming through the ground. He moved at an abnormally high speed.

Without warning the area was evaporated. A huge ash cloud surfaces as my surroundings had completely disappeared, leaving me in the middle of a crater. Applying [wrath] into a large dome like area, time was rewinded back to before the explosion was set off. Sealing a large area with [abyssal dome] aiding the accuracy of [manipulate shadow], I located the enemy in an instant before shrinking the dome to only cover him. This blocked his attack, resulting in an explosion that had a more miniscule radius than before, albeit more destructive, enough for the air to detonate and cause chain explosions.

As the smoke cleared away, he had once again escaped. The sky darkened as my legs got weak. Taking a step forward felt like there was lead in my ankles. Not like lead would weigh much with my agility carrying the weight, however this was unusual since my stamina wasn't that meagre. Wait...that's it, stamina. Looking down, there was a crimson puddle from my feet. Gugh, when did he get me?

Using [wrath] to return myself to normal, my senses picked up a mass of mana in the surroundings. Scrutinising closely, there were magic circle's everywhere. They were as thin as thread and could only be perceived through [mana detection tier-5] ,these threads would suck vitality out like a vampire. Radiating pressure, the threads couldn't be collapsed. My only solution was to turn time of the threads back to before they were formed. Dispelling the threads in the area, I finally felt safe and relaxed my body.

I was completely tricked, he had used the opening as an escape. The threads weren't intended for killing at all. Tch! Since the skill caster was gone, the zombies went back to normal corpses. Going to the corpses, something they had caught my attention. One of them was a right glove and the second was a left glove. They were a matching pair, yet they were worn by 2 seperate people. Using [shadow step], I teleported back home to inspect my findings.

Judging from the names, they were items from the 'commandments' series. The 'authority' was a strange one, as it belonged to neither the 'sin' or 'commandment' series. Wielding it felt like having a power on another dimension. The only reason the enemy couldn't use it on me was because he couldn't follow my movements with my ridiculous speed. With the defeat of those high leveled enemies, I had also reached the level cap of 1000. Usually the journey to getting stronger would end here, but what if there was more?

Usually when people hit their level cap, they go to an ancient church to evolve their class. This evolved class will go up a tier and raise their level cap. From expectations, I had no more potential as I was at the peak of the S class. But who decided I will stop here? Even if my class stops evolving, I will keep finding ways to get stronger. No matter what I had to keep going... Because this was the reason I reincarnated in this world. This was my second chance to prevent myself from having no ambition. To constantly have a goal was the aim I had set.

Renewing my resolve, I regained my composure before heading for the royal church. Throwing away the ascension to kingship like a used tissue paper, I pushed forth for more power. Becoming king can wait for another day.
