Chapter 89 - 36 - Resolve part 2

One specific thing I've noticed was that his speed had become much faster. I could just feel the mana in the air, it shifted even more than before with every movement he made.

Tch, so his 'sin' ability was based on stats. I don't know how it's activated, but it definitely has something to do with this room. Right now it was as if it was another dimension, maybe it is. He had control over everything except for his opponent's life and the mana stored in their body, if there were any. What's to say he doens't have control over his own life? He was afterall, a part of the territory as it's owner.

'fuuh~' I need to calm down and think of a proper strategy. Lunging forward with all his strength, I dodge under before landing my foot square on his torso making him cough out fluid. I need a quick solution that removes his immortality. The only visible answer to this dillema was to somehow break his territory. I'm not sure if that's even possible, considering his level.

His black spiked hair and his formal suit covered in sweat and blood, Vadim adjusts his speed to rain punches. Dodging them one by one by shifting to my left and right, I let one punch go through. *Pah!* The impact hit squarely on my face, using the momentum from his hit, I spun before striking all my strength, impaling his torso. He can't seem to kill himself unless he was low on health or he would have spammed it into oblivion to gian stats.

Twisting my body to dodge his attacks, I break his elbow. His territory was incredibly versatile, it locked space to prevent teleportation and was able to forward his time to resist 'wrath'. 'Wrath' didn't require any mana, so I kept pressing against his forwarding of time and slowed it down. Slowly his movements dulled, but if he completely concentrated, he could probably break free from the slowing down of his time.

At this point a notification popped up from the world system. [Soul reap-tier 5]. It was an instant death spell that came after a certain amount of time after using this class. At tier 5 the success rate was 32%. Breaking free from the slowed down time, Vadim activates all his offensive skills before attacking. With a practiced air, he closes the distance without any gaps in his defense. 'Kuh! This is my territory! I'm never losing this place again...! ' (Vadim)

"If you have what it takes to defeat me, then try it! [Absolute territory] [Omni stat enhancement-tier 5] [Final hit: down with the cliff!] " (Vadim)

"Then I'll just have to answer to that request! [Definite blow] [Killing blow] [Swift strike] [Deep slash] [Decapitate] [Execute]! "

Shoving a blade into his heart, Vadim revives once again with 3 trillion agility. I only had one shot from this small opening. Being revived itself took time, even a few seconds was important in this high level situation.

I dispelled my [Diamond enhancement] to activate [Abyssal dome-tier 5] and [Soul reap-tier 5.]. At tier 5,abyssal dome raised the accuracy of dark elemental spells by 20%,increasing [soul reap] to 52% success rate. This last minute evolution of [Abyssal dome] guided my soul. I finally gained confidence in how to deal with this trouble some opponent. At the same time Vadim clad his right arm in dense mana and applied all his buffs before connecting this final punch.

This final exchange would decide the battle once and for all as the turning point. I didn't need to wait for his attack at all, as he moved so fast I couldn't react. Between our unwavering souls, who would come out on top? It was the one with the most resolve!

' His sacrifices will not go in vain! I shall defeat this final opponent with my [Absolute territory]. In such a crisis, I need to trust this skill I've built from the very start!' (Vadim)

' From the start I've never yearned for anything 'deep' or dreamed for anything. Everything I've achieved was 'shallow' and now I finally want more! Wasting my life away to that dull lifestyle, I've finally found a goal in this world. You shall be a stepping stone in my goal to become the strongest! '

*Bang*!

Losing his life before the punch connected, his corpse still flung at a speed that was extremely high from the momentum. I was practically crushed against the wall and my [instant regeneration] only worked when I actually have enough space to regenerate my lost cells and blood.

Using this short moment of his unconsiousness, I expanded [Abyssal dome] to cover the whole room instead of just my body. It couldn't completely break the boundary, but if I focused, I could create the exit. Running to the door of the room, I forced it open with the mana in the [Abyssal dome] before rushing out. *pah! *

No...no..no..no! The territory didn't break because it thinly held the outside of the [abyssal dome] with a barrier! Using [shadow step], I teleported a meter behind my original position and punched in the air. It wasn't the air, Vadim had revived. Combining the momentum of his speed and my punch, the barrier was broken by it's owner's fist. Naturally Vadim had passives that boosted attacks against territories, which included his own. If this didn't work I would have lost. This battle was just a series of gambles, was this how it was like for 'sins' to battle?

Using the opening, I expanded [abyssal dome] out of the room and placed it on the few meters around the entrance. Where Vadim was lying at. I teleported out with [shadow step] and had to use my best move. Now that he was out of his own territory, though it took only a second for him to destroy [abyssal dome], his [time lock] was no longer on and he couldn't resist 'wrath'. Rewinding time, I sent it back to the few hundred billion.

Stakes of darkness rose out of the ground to impale his limbs. It wasn't as if he couldn't dodge it. He was running towards the outside of the room, just nice enough for me to position the stakes in his front side with [manipulate shadow]. His fist was still charged with his skills, unfazed by his own barrier, they could kill me should they even touch me.

Forming a scythe with [manipulate shadow], I used 'wrath' to freeze its time so I didn't need to supply mana. It couldn't carry out the magic effects of darkness, but right now I only needed physical strength. Turning on [diamond enhancement], I intercepted his punch in time. Punching through his arm with my superior speed, my left hand held the scythe as I spun a little. Bring all my momentum into my hands, I used both hands to grasp the shadow scythe and plunged it downwards. Cutting Vadim in half.

He no longer had his revives as he broke his own territory. Picking up my loot, I dragged my half dead body as I left the burning mansion. Apparently his mana couldn't hold it, so he opened holes in his barriers on purpose. The aftershocks of the battle got outside the room and caused a massive fire. Scrutinising the surroundings, it was strangely quiet with no guards at all. Hmm~ how strange. Were they illusions formed from his territory? What a lonely person.

My regeneration was quick and before I knew it, all my wounds had closed and I was just mentally exhausted. It was already morning after what had transpired. Using [shadow step] to teleport back into my dorm, I checked what little time I had left before going to school. 15 minutes... Using all 15 minutes to do my homework, I teleported into class right as the teacher was about to step in.
