The early saturday morning sun brightens the capital as I crawl out of my bed. Finishing my morning routine, I drag myself out of the door as I look at my map of the capital. Spanning with a radius of 50 kilometres, the royal palace was a solid steel fortress with its own radius of one kilometre straight in the centre of the city. The walls around the city were about 2 stories tall to keep out while beasts and monsters.
The elite institution that I go to every day was on the opposide side of the royal palace of the normal Magic academy. Due to the elite institution student population consisting of 100% noble students, the rich families move around and build large mansions and houses near the school. Nobles rarely used the dormitory, so the whole building was pretty much just a dormitory for when someone gets injured or someone doesn't want to go home. Disregarding the small infirmary that was built at the first floor, the one I used after I passed out at the tournament, after being impaled by 8 spears without a pain nullifier.
This one week of grinding really helped me develop my own unique fighting style. In the first place I was an assassin, so fighting like a muscle brain was probably a bad idea. So I slowly practiced trying to hide myself and eventually gained numerous new skills to go with it. Due to this week alone, I had fun decapitating monster heads and watching monsters fall into simple traps. There was a new method of fighting, mainly for when I got cornered, or when I wanted to transition from assassination to fighting. It was also improvised to transition back into assassination if I get the chance as I become safe when I'm hiding.
Walking in the opposite direction of the mansions, there was a single ancient church there. Due to my ridiculous speed, I was able to arrive in an instant. Opening the door and ignoring the drink stall packed with customers at the side, the church really had an ancient atmosphere. Like the other churches, the walls were filled with cracks, the windows were practically vines and there was ancient altar of a goddess at the other end of the entrance.
There was a red carpet in the middle that led to the altar. It was only meant to be walked on by the person going to use the altar. If you weren't using the altar, you would have to wait at the benches at the left side of the red carpet. Alternatively, you could go to the right side of the carpet and buy a drink while waiting for your friend/family to use the altar.
For some reason, the priests next to the altar were always level 600. Apparently it was meant to be a gesture of respect to the goddess by refusing their own evolution and allowing other people to go through theirs. I don't know man, I don't practice this otherwordly religion. After 10 minutes of drinking my sweetened coffee at the benches, it was finally my turn to use the altar. Dropping the cup into the bin far away with [manipulate shadow], I walked along the red carpet. It was the only thing that was actually maintained and cleaned. Apparently the carpets were thoroughly washed and fixed with magic to keep it's majestic appearance.
Reaching the altar, I pay the priest the fee for him to insert the ancient coins. Dropping them into this slit that was in a box in front of the altar, a small flash of white light came and went away like a flash bang. I was really excited. But I had to contain myself, this was an inevitable development if I wanted to exact vengeance on Uncle Vadim. This is between us alone, so I'll spare all the guards and only take his head. To show my resolve, I would refrain from using [Time manipulation]. It probably didn't matter much to anyone, but for me, it showed that I fought with my own strength. Even if it was amplified 200 times...
After the small flash of light, the priest on the right was about to speak when...
Deep black light consumes the church. The light was harmless, so only those scared of the dark were really affected. I wouldn't count on there being a lot of people though, as adventurers we had to get used to dark dungeons. So this harmless light was barely disrupting anyone. The priest on the other hand... Was the only one who knew any of the significance of this light.
"Ah...aaaa~"(Priest A)
Correction, he wasn't only aware, he was also shaking. A second after the light swallowed the church, the world system sent a notification.
Of course I clicked Yes. Why else did I come here? It was less of clicking and more of the interface was inside my mind. So I just needed to subconsiously think "Yes" as lying didn't matter. The goddess altar looked a little similar to Zet with her hair style...wait...alright I shan't question it.

Gaining 5 new passives was a huge boost, but before I take my revenge, I need to put all my skills to the test first. For the rest of the day, I spent it on researching the properties of magic in the Tsumond family's lab. Apparently this was only the capital branch, there was a larger main branch in the city that the Tsumond clan manages. The 7 great families all have their own city to manage, I can roughly guess that even ascending to kingship, Bavner couldn't convince the people to drop their feudalism. Since they all have cities far away from here, their heirs were actually living in the dormitory the whole time. They rarely ever left their room, giving most people the impression they were never there, but I could feel the pressure in the air. Even in their own rooms, they train really hard, gaining capabilities that surpassed the student population by a long shot. Of course, there were exceptions like me and zaltria who worked just as hard. I go to rest as I await the next day.
