One by one, days passed by and it had been a week since I've blackmailed into getting a decent rank at the mage's association. The mage's association buys certain materials from the adventurers association, while earning money from their member's monthly fees. Only the top of the "researcher" rank actually get allowances, usually only the heads and assistant heads of each branch office, save for the main office get salaries. For the main office, they were situated near the capital and the founder had managed to convince the king to fund their business.
Everyday, I would return to the mage's association branch in Harox city. I would make an appointment with their "head" and "talk" with them. After the first time we met and establish the contract, they constantly kept their guard up and overestimated me. Just smiling deviously at them was enough to make their spines shiver. The effects that my visits were having on them had slowly accumulated to the point that their spirits got crushed everytime they see me.
Well it's only a matter of time before they find out that I was all talk with that gem. I should probably make the most out of it before they revoke it. Though, it would probably take a long time considering how I broke the "head's" mind. Taking that into account, I earnestly grinded as much exp as I could and got to level 41 in a week. I could use [Flamewave-tier 3] up to 3 times before I run out of mana, this helped me constantly mow down swarms of low level monsters.
It was at this point that I got bored of grinding low leveled monsters, this drove me to go deeper into cave each day. At the end of the week, I reached a strange looking door that was covered with vines and moss. The walls around it were strangely smooth and had come glowing cracks that somehow made it look like something was being contained inside. Is this it? Is this what they call the boss room? A sense of trepidation fills my soul as I walk closer and closer to the door. Strangely, the monsters spawning outside were so less that I didn't need to use mana, so I wait outside until my mana had charged to full, though my physical exhaustion had risen up a little.
Deciding it was time, I pushed the door open and walked into the strange room. Many lines engraved on the walls glowed purple and the door closed. Concerned, I pushed against the door... It was stuck. I couldn't escape. I'm guessing that I have to defeat the boss first. Turning my back around, a large figure walked out of the darkness and came closer to the centre of the room that was barely lit. It was fine, I have [mana detection-tied 3],lighting wasn't a difficulty. The orc general had a huge belly, his chest was covered by some rusted plate armor and he had loose chain leggings that looked like they might break at any second. His eyes glowed yellow and his irises were a horizontal black bar, his abnormally long green nose puffed out some air. "Fuuu~" Breathing out air for concentration, I take out my dagger from my spatial storage before fixing my eyes on my enemy.
Monster: Orc general
Level: 60
Health: 8000/8000
Mana: 200/200
Strength: 400
Vitality: 800
Intelligence: 20
Agility: 320
Monsters generally start with higher stats than humans and 8000 health was a hell lot, the silver lining was that he had low intelligence and my agility surpassed his. Rushing in, I put energy into my legs, shooting me forth like a cannon. Not being able to see this coming, the orc general stood still while I barely slashed his knee. Looking closer, it wasn't that my slash was weak, he had regenerated about a quarter of the damage back.
"That's fine, I will slice you until you stop moving!" Now that I've been trapped here, this was a matter of life and death for me. As if responding back with his own war cry, the orc general bellowed, "GUARGHHHH!".
Running low to the ground, I activated my newly learnt skill. "[Acrobatics]! ". This skill allowed me to step on the air for a few seconds. Placing a "solid air" foothold for a few seconds.
I positioned it vertically before kicking it. My body was running extremely close to the ground as if I could just lie down on the ground. Using the skill, I did a wall kick, swinging my body one half round around the orc general befor I pressed my other leg into the ground. Flicking my wrist and reversing my grip on my dagger, I swung with all my strength at the opponents neck. Jumping away to put a distance, I inspected the orc general's health: 6000/8000. Tch, this guy's regeneration is insane. Using [mana detection- tier 3] ,I found small magic circles appearing around the wounds. Was this one of the orc general's class skill?
Lucky I had an afinity with support magic, I had immediately memorised the magic circle for future use. The world system sent a notification like always. This time it was a notice that had appeared in my status. Opening my status, the [Auto regeneration-tier 3] had appeared.
Jumping in once more, I wasn't going to stop after one slash this time. Spamming [acrobatics] to stay in the air, I used gravity and momentum to my advantage and kept slashing. It only went on for 2 second until *Clang! *. The orc general blocked my dagger, I didn't want to let go of my dagger so the momentum went against me this time and shot me towards the dungeon wall. "Kugh!".
Getting back on my feet, I spent the rest of my mana. Stacking 3 [ High speed enhancement-tier e] s, I had a total of 145% boost to my speed, sending my agility to 1347.5 . Since my mana ran out, I only had one minute to make the most out of it. The fight depended on this single minute! Adjusting my stance back to normal, I ran so close to the ground that I could taste it. Using [acrobatics] continuously, I jumped at many different angles around the orc general while slashing the whole time. Every time the orc general parried my attacks, I would hit 3 more times as my speed far exceeded his. His health whittled and gradually his regenration could not handle his injuries. At first the slash wounds got his health down to 5000, next I cut down his tendons and slowly his limbs also got amputated lowering his health to 1000. Finally I dealt the lasf blow. Carving out a whole my stabbing with all my strength into his skull, I stuck some of the magic gems I got from the mage's association, literally frying his brain.
Level up! : 41 —> 50
Time to get a class.
