Chapter 35 - 35 - final part 2

Then came the third day for 1v1 matches. In the first match, the opponent was like Fez except that he was a much more experienced third year. They had roughly the same strategy and prowess with magic, but that was exactly why my presence drives fear into his soul. "Do you want to take it fast or slow?". The third year shivers too hard to respond. "Fine, here goes". Disappearing from the ground and leaving a crater in my place, I reappear right infront with my fist mere inches from his face. After a small time delay, the shockwave pushes him out of the barrier, signifying my win. It seemed Koga also woned his battle and made it to the top 4 of the battle oriented mages.

He worked extremely hard huh~ That's fine, I want to see how much he improved so he shouldn't lose so easily. Walking over to the match ground where Koga was fighting, he couldn't be found anywhere. He must have activated [illusion] to hide from his opponent.

His opponent warily looks at the surroundings to determine where Koga is. A blur appears in the sky and falls on the student. The student's head lopps off before disappearing into particles, the student reappeared outside of the barrier. It seems that the blur was Koga activating both [illusion] and [shadow step] to ambush his opponent. Walking outside of the match ground Koga greeted me. "Yo! How are you doing?" (Koga) "Bored.Unlike that third year, at least Fez struggled before I killed her."

"Whoa, that's scary Emily-chan. You shouldn't think like that. Anyway, what happen to Edna?" (Koga) "She's in the toilet crying because she lost the first round today."

"Ouch."(Koga)

After taking a small snack break and chatting with Koga-senpai and searching for the crying Edna-senpai to console her, the second round was about to start. Koga was lucky that he wasn't facing me as it would spell out an automatic defeat. I was his mentor after all, a disciple can't surpass their mentor so quickly.

The second round was as anticlimatic as the first. Before I even jumped, I would bend my knees a little into a horizontal crouching position. Just getting in the position made my opponent urinate in his own garment and surrender. The referee quickly runned in, well the match ground was if a decent size which took the referee half a minut to run in. Well it was half a minute too slow anyway for the referee's intentions. Waving his hands vigorously in the air while shouting since there were no whistles, "Stop! The opponent has conceded! I know you are blood thirsty, but you have already won! Emily" (referee) "What? I literally waited for you to run here, you think I would take more than 30 seconds to kill someone that is stationary?", "..." (referee)

Sighing, I just walked back out of the barrier while the referee helped the opponent that peed himself stand up. What a mess... Wasn't that guy one of the" prodigy" second years? Whatever, let's go watch Koga's match. Oh look Edna is there too. "Edna!" I called out while giving a bright smile. The people previously watching my matches couldn't believe I could smile and were in confusion. Ignoring them I ran towards Edna.

In the match ground that Koga was suppose to be fightinf on, there was no one inside. The activated barrier indicated that the participants are still inside. It seemed that both Koga and his opponent were dark elemental magic users. They were both using illusion and the 2 illusions formed an unnatural looking border in the center of the barrier cutting the match ground in 2.There were very less spectator's here as most people couldn't see through the illusion and found it boring to wait for someone to collapse out of nowhere. Looking closely, sometimes the air around the unnatural border blurs a little. Are they fighting each other based on pinpointing each other's location with mana? What a risky fight, you could accidentally dispell your own illusion or get your illusion dispelled by your opponent leaving you in the open. But this time both were dispelled at the same time.

1 familiar figure and an unfamiliar figure rushed at each other on the match ground. Both trying to get into the other's blind spot that it looked like they were both circling some air which made some spectator's laugh as it looks very akward. One leapt in and the other leapt over, barely dodging each other in mid-air, they both turn around so their back wasn't facing their opponent. A dance of daggers clashing each other in whatever gap that could be found, formed. Sometimes the opponent would swipe his feet on the ground and Koga would jump over while trying to slash in mid-air. Finally at the end, Koga slipped his wrist and his opponent took the opoortunity to lop his head right off.

Ending the third round with an intense clash.

Now it would just be me, the dark magic user and the support type mage that will fight in the finals tomorrow. Lessons continued as normal, though the principal would strangely call me out of class just to have a chat or ask for advice on how to treat his daughter. Yes, this battle maniac had a daughter, apparently he wanted to spoil me. This world is crazy afterall...
