Chapter 28 - 28 - conviction

The first thing was introduction, since communication was key in teamwork. Let's go full chuuni and give cool code names too! "Nice to meet you, my name is Emily! " The third year was rank 5th in the previous year, apparently in first year people rarely go on high ranks but last year he worked really hard so that he can be a reliable senpai. His name was Koda and he relies mainly on dark magic.

The second year had a timid personality compared to the third year. Her name was Edna and she had a support role. Well I can't tell what role I was since I mainly just shoot beams of energy at anything that moves. Guess I'm a dps just like Koda. How unbalanced. Well at least we have a support unlike some other teams.

We immediately started discussing tactics. Since Edna could heal normally, in order to hide my [cleanse-tier 6] I would leave my helaing role to Edna. Why am I hiding that amazing skill? Because it feels cool! Well cleanse-tier 6 was just a small part of my time manipulation anyway.Well, I also pretended to be a support role and told Koga I would support him from base.

In this competition, there would be 2 bases, each base will be one side. A base is sort of like a castle and that we had to guard a flag at the back of the base. The enemy can choose to capture it and bring it back to their base or defeat the whole enemy team. Basically, I would be lazing around on the rooftop of the base and send Koga speed enhancements that would make him overpower the enemy team. If the enemy chose to avoid him and head straight for the base, I would be the last boss guarding the flag. Though that would be difficult too as Edna could plant magic mines and detection lines around the forest between the bases, and inform Koga through low tier telepathy.

The first strategy and the one I proposed was that me and Edna sit back at the base and support Koga from there. Since Edna couldn't cast spells at a very far distance I gave her a ring engraved with a targetting spell. The magic circle basically produces a mana bullet and the effects of the bullet depend on Edna to cast her own spells.

The plan was to have Koga hunt them down since he was a third year, his strength should be sufficient.

Another strategy was to just sit in the base and make the corridor narrow with earth magic so me and Edna could bombard them with low tier elemental magic, this would distract them while Koga stabs them in the back. The thing was that there was a chance they see this trap coming and only 1 of them takes the bite while the other 2 target Koga.

The last strategy was to rush for the flag, me and Edna would be bait while Koga uses his shadow magic to sneak in. We could probably pull it off but it was incredibly risky and they could also rush for our flag and try to stop Koga on his way back. So the ideal strategy was the first one.

"Ano... I don't think I have enough mana to cast trap and detect around the whole forest." (Edna) said while looking down and glancing at me occasionally. Is she trying to play the shy and clumsy type? Well whatever, "Donvt worry I'll healp you with that, I'll give you same mana when you need it later, but you have to speak up and ask! Don't be quiet! As soon as your mana pool reaches to 1 quarter you should open your mouth about it!You got it? " "Yes!.." (Edna)

Looking surprised, Koga accidentally damages Edna's self-esteem. "Looking at it from here, Emily-san you look more like the senpai here" (Koga) "Ah." I couldn't find a response so I just went with whatever came out of my throat.

Moving on we started to try to get use to the map, since we didn't want to use our main strategy in front of the other people practicing around here(there were only 16 match areas, 8 teams are practicing on each area), we adopted the rejected strategie of sitting in our base. "..." "..." Edna and me was just staring at each other. This isn't a very well thought out practice session huh? Well we just needed to get used to the map, so I beckoned Edna over and walked outside of our dumb corridor. When Koga so us he came over surprised. "This practice method is really dumb, let's just explore the forest and jog at the same time". Nodding to my words we walked outside the base.

Koga needed to move through the terrain and Edna needed to set the traps so they both needed to get used to the location. I was just there because I was bored of staring at the castle walls at the bass... "Hey Koga, let's practice combat", "but you guys are support, how would you fight?" (Koga) "That was a lie, I had also disguised my level." Yes, yesterday when looking for a restaurant to eat in the city, I found someone selling low tier disguise amulets. Nonetheless they would work on these people because kids aren't suppose to have anti-disguise skills or equipment yet. Yes, I was the strange one for being level 304 at the age of 9.

The both of them just stared at me wide-eyed. "Come, do you have the conviction to face my overwhelming power? Just so you know I can ressurect you, so I won't hesitate to kill you" Narrowing my eyes, I observe them for their response...
