The close-combat troops charged without hesitation because of the war mode of the Ancient Gods.
In previous games, during combat, military achievements were calculated based on the number of kills.
However, in the Ancient Gods, if there were no special circumstances, once someone died, they typically couldn't participate in that battle anymore; if the original mechanism was used, it would create an unwillingness to fight.
This would be extremely unfair to the MT, since leading the charge often meant certain death.
But when the Ancient Gods entered war mode, military achievements were basically calculated based on objectives. Completing military targets could earn overall military contributions.
And those players who had fallen earlier could still obtain the same military achievements; of course, individuals who made special contributions would receive certain compensation.
