Chereads / Reincarnation: I Am The Boss / Chapter 8 - Template Manager

Chapter 8 - Template Manager

Swoosh!

With a swing of the bandit leader's club, [Powerful Sweep] was dished out.

LadyDragon, whose HP was not full, was killed on the spot and 20 to 30 other players were also caught in the attack.

However, with the relentless attacks from all the players, the bandit leader's HP plummeted. His HP fell from 500 to 100 in a heartbeat and five more [Fireballs] would end his life.

There were at least 17 to 18 more [Fireballs] flying towards him, so it was certain that this would be the end of him.

As for the players who cast all the [Fireballs], their hearts were pounding. This would probably be the first Boss that they had ever killed in the game, and even though it was just a mini Boss, the bandit leader would surely drop some decent equipment.

On top of the equipment, the Boss was on a high level, and it would not be a surprise if the XP from the Boss boosted the players by one or two levels.

However, in the next moment, all the players who were looking forward to the death of the Boss were shocked by the unbelievable scene that unfolded before their eyes.

Before all the [Fireballs] could hit the Boss, the skill flashes shone from the remaining bandit goon's body as he swung his iron sword at the Boss, delivering the final blow.

The Boss fell from the slash and a dazzling purple light glowed from the bandit goon.

Did the goon just kill his own Boss and level up himself?!

Whilst bathing in the purple light, Mohai felt refreshed like never before and his body was surging with power!

He switched his attention to the players who had yet to react to the situation. He raised the iron sword and unleashed an even stronger [Powerful Sweep] with a wide range. The yellow flash swept over the players instantly.

-440! -465! -453!

After he leveled up and evolved, Mohai gained a super buff that granted him a 50% increase in skill effects, a 50% decrease in cooldown time, a 50% increase in Attack Speed, and all the damage received decreased by 50%!

The Blessing of Isabelle! Furthermore, the buff would last for a whole day!

Almost 30 players, who were dumbstruck by the scene, were killed instantly, including FallenMoon and the members of the Blooming Dream.

"Run!"

The surviving players lost their will to fight against a stronger Boss with full HP and who could unleash an endless wave of AOE attacks!

LadyDragon claimed the biggest credit for taking down the bandit leader, but with her death, the others were just cannon fodder that were not even qualified to share the loot.

Mohai was not as merciful or stupid as the bandit leader.

With a super buff like the Blessing of Isabelle on him, he was practically invincible when he faced these players.

With the lingering purple light swirling around him, Mohai charged into the players and a large group of them fell in his wake.

In the blink of an eye, not a single survivor was left within 100 meters of Mohai.

He stopped his rampage and looked around at the scattered bodies, feeling smug about his kills.

Throughout the five years of his past life in the game, he had never felt excitement like this before.

However, there was one more player remaining. Mohai turned around quickly and looked at the loli Warrior who tried to sneak up on him with a cunning gaze.

He knew this little girl would not be as obedient as the others, hence he paid extra attention to her sneaky actions.

Nevertheless, even if he did not care about the loli Warrior, she could not get close to him either.

After evolving, his aggro radius increased to 70 meters.

He did not care about the little girl who looked disappointed after being discovered. Instead, he sent her back to the city with a single swing of his iron sword.

More than 200 players were killed and there were seven to eight pieces of equipment scattered across the battlefield. After evolving, Mohai gained a large bag with 40 slots, and even though the equipment from the players was garbage, he still bagged them all.

Cleaning the battlefield was an honorary tradition of the Boss monster in Origin. In the near future, those major guilds would have a group of players in charge of retrieving equipment and items that fell from dead players.

A monster killing a player had a lot of benefits and there were a lot more players further away. Given Mohai's current speed, killing another 200 to 300 players would not be a problem, but he was not interested.

After the death of the bandit leader, he did not just level up his template, but his level also jumped to Level 10. Therefore, killing players who were not even on Level 5 would not benefit him, and the garbage equipment that dropped from the players was not worthy of his time.

Mohai opened his template window, and upon first glance, he realized that the stats of the bandit leader were a lot different than he expected.

Other than the 5,000 HP, which was as expected, the others strayed away from his initial thought, especially the details of the attributes.

He was fine with the bandit goons not having any actual attributes, but if the bandit leader did not provide one, it did not make sense. The only explanation was that even the Boss himself did not have an actual attribute.

As he moved down to the buff stats from his equipment stats, which was labeled out clearly, Mohai knew his guess was on the right track.

The monster template was not just a simple title or a mark. Perhaps there was a set of complicated calculation methods for all the final attributes behind every monster template.

Including the type of the template, the fixed attributes of the monster, and the buffs from the equipment, all the elements were calculated and included by the monster template and converted into the monster's final attributes.

If that was true, he would be able to solve the questions that had been bothering him for a while now.

For example, if a Boss acquired a normal item but still became extremely powerful, it might be the cumulative effect from the items that matched the Boss's template, hence granting the Boss unusual strength and power.

The equipment the bandit leader possessed must have matched his template a lot better than Mohai's whole set of lousy equipment. Unfortunately, after he killed the bandit leader, no items or equipment dropped from the body.

As a veteran player with five years of experience in the game, Mohai was not surprised at all. He decided to kill the bandit leader just so he could make sure that his template could level up properly.

Mohai believed that there was a certain possibility that the second requirement for his template to level up would be killing a bandit leader with his own hands.

Therefore, he did not care about the equipment from the bandit leader since securing the levels for his template was more important.

"Template Manager, equip!"

Mohai looked at his bag. The dark golden orb was already ready to be equipped.

With a touch of his finger, the Template Manager disappeared from his back and a dark golden light enveloped him although it only lasted for a second.

After equipping the orb, Mohai's skin had an extra layer of dark gold on it. It was very faint, so one could not notice it without a careful glance.

In his attribute window, there was an extra option for the Template Manager.

[Template Manager]

[Access Level]: F-rank

[Ability]: Template collection, template enhancement, template switch

[Special ability]

[Eternal Will (F-rank)]: Your will is in your hands. You won't be affected by low-level aggro

[Genes of the Gods (F-rank)]: The Genes of the Gods fuse with your body. Damage received decreases by 10%.

[Ruler (F-rank)]: You gain a better ruling ability. Increases the number of men under your command by 20%

[Requirements to increase Access Level]

1. Complete the first stage of template collection.

2. Raise all special abilities to E-rank

It's so powerful!

That was the first thought that popped in his mind after a quick glance through the Template Manager.

No wonder it was the ultimate goal that all Bosses sought after. Despite only being F-rank, the ability was already this powerful!
