Elena found herself struggling to see, and also away from the pond. She started to cast a light summoning spell when the trees started glowing a pale green.
Just then, a Fairy appeared before her and tried to bite her!
She couldn't believe how ugly the Fairy was. Its teeth were five inches long and sharp as daggers. She just barely managed to escape having her shoulder chewed off. Quickly, Elena shifted her magic and began to cast a different spell.
The Fairy froze in place, but Elena had the same problem she'd had when casting the spell against the creatures that had attacked Danny at the inn. She would have to keep putting magic into the spell to maintain it until someone could help her.
"Help . . . Help!" Elena managed to yell.

Danny found himself in the worst situation of all. He'd been transported into the Fairy Pond. Inside it, he found himself surrounded by devastatingly beautiful women with gorgeous butterfly wings. Unfortunately, he could not breathe, and no matter how hard he tried to surface, he could not get above water. The beautiful women stared at him, smiling evilly as he struggled.

Yevad struggled to get up, but the Fairy was on him with her claws pointed at his face. His sword bit into her left palm holding it off, and he held her right wrist just inches from his left eye. Even though he'd sliced through her right shoulder, she still managed to force him to strain to keep her from impaling him with her claws. She growled at him angrily and her spit dripped onto Yevad's chin.
Yevad screamed in disgust, and with a surge of adrenaline he shoved her off of him and sent her flying into a tree.
She shrieked and ran at him. The Fairy moved so quickly that he barely managed to lift his sword just in time to impale her. Then, her head suddenly rolled down off of her shoulders.
Yevad screamed in horror thinking that this might be some sick kind of attack, but Mikaya was standing there above them, and she has done the damage to the sapphire Fairy.
"Those damn Fairies have really been powered up. No matter how many times I hit the stupid thing it took cutting off its head to finally stop it," Mikaya commented. Then she smiled at Yevad. "Looks like I figured it out just in time to help you."
"Help!" Elena screamed again. She struggled desperately to keep the spell going. Apparently she hadn't fully recovered from the last time she'd cast this spell.
Suddenly, she heard someone running up behind her. Elena held her breath and prayed it wasn't another Fairy. Just then, she heard a whoosh sound, and a sword swung in front of her and chopped off the Fairy's head.
Yevad caught Elena as she collapsed in relief.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, but that . . . where's Danny?" Elena said suddenly looking around.
Mikaya stood next to Yevad, but Danny was no where to be seen.
Elena sensed with her magic, but she didn't feel anything.
Then, they all heard laughter. Mikaya and Yevad stared in horror at what happened at the Fairy Pond next. Elena turned around slowly, not really wanting to know what horrible thing was happening there.
A white light shone so brightly now that it almost seemed as if day had already broken. Ten Fairies emerged from the Fairy Pond. All of them were gorgeous, just like Mikaya and Elena remembered, but they transformed as soon as they saw the three outsiders staring at them.
Danny struggled frantically to get out of the Fairy Pond, but no matter how high he swam, he never reached the surface. His lungs started to hurt as he did everything in his power to make sure that he stayed calm. He had learned that when he was very small. Stay calm; keep air in your lungs. Panic, and drown.
What made it worse for Danny was that he could see the beautiful women leaving the water. They could get out somehow, but he couldn't.
In desperation, he grabbed onto one of the women's legs as she emerged from the pond.
She pulled him free of the pond, and Danny gasped for air. Then, she transformed into a monster.
Danny almost let go of her leg, but he didn't because he knew he would die if he fell back into the pond.
Yevad noticed something on one of the Fairy's legs. "It's the kid," Yevad shouted in realization.
"Oh no!" Mikaya and Elena shouted in unison.
The Fairy that had Danny grinned evilly down at the boy and grabbed him by the throat. She pulled him up to look her in the face.
Danny grabbed on to the Fairy's forearm and dug his nails into her flesh. He prayed she didn't decide to do the same to him.
"Elena, can you cast the paralysis spell one more time?" Mikaya asked in an urgent voice.
Elena hesitated. "I . . . don't know, Mikaya. I don't think I can manage it for very long. I feel depleted. It . . . It hurts."
"I won't let it be for too long," Yevad said in a determined voice.
"We won't let it be for too long," Mikaya said, drawing her sword.
Elena nodded and began chanting the spell as fast as she could.
Mikaya and Yevad ran at the Fairy Pond with their swords ready.
The Fairies didn't wait. They began casting spells of their own on Yevad and Mikaya. Mikaya gasped in realization and ran into Yevad. They both fell to the ground, armor clattering.
"What the hell are you doing!" Yevad yelled.
"We can't attack the other Fairies."
"What?"
"They've cast a spell to cause us equal damage to what we wish to visit upon them."
"Wh . . . a . . . t?" Yevad asked, drawing out the word in disbelief and dismay.
"Yevad, protect Elena," Mikaya said and ran at the one Fairy that stood frozen by Elena's spell.
Danny still held onto her forearm and tried to pull free of her grasp.
"I don't get it . . . Zuck let go when Elena froze him. Why won't this thing let me go?" Danny thought.
Elena began to feel dizzy. She grit her teeth and fell to her knees.
Yevad ran back to her side. He knelt next to her and held her steady as she threatened to fall face-down to the ground.
