Patriargë's monarchy was falling into ruins. Its people were protesting about how the country was fallen from grace—how the newly ascended king, Rodga, had led the country into its demise. Although Patriargë wasn't doing good for the past generations, it wasn't as impoverished as it is right now.
Slums are growing larger, nobles are getting greedier, and taxes were skyrocketing high. Patriargë was in its low, and rumors proved to scare even the king. Rumors about a revolt—a civil war. Rodga, the current king, signed so many questionable laws that even the common people started to doubt whether he was actually thinking straight.
One of the laws he had signed is the slum area renovation.
