The Maezawa were among the wealthiest owners of estates and private islands. We were out on a picnic and was lately joined by the Minamoto clan. It was one of the fine days of weekends, we set a campaign in an upland areas nearby a forest where wolves were still believed to exist although they were scarcely seen by anyone.
The brothers were set on a quest in search of preys for the pleasure of hunting and fishing. While the eldest one remains to stay.
I look around to check if anyone was watching us and when I thought it was my chance to snuck away to the woods brother stopped me whom I thought had gone, "Don't go into the woods wolves could be inhabitants in there." The eldest brother warns me who was aware of my intention.
"But I wanna go there! Papa said there are no wolves..." I held one of his fingers as he stood there mutely.
"And Iam not going alone Yuuma is willing to accompany me to go out for a walk there!" I shush him to play along with me before dragging him into it.
He then bend over to my side and sighed at me, "You silly stubborn little sister." He flick my forehead. "Fine. Under one condition, you must return before the dawn."
It lits up my face with a broad smile and gives him a quick hug, "He-h thanks big brother! See you around later."
Why is my heart tense? Should I have let her go? He thought watching their back before they disappeared into the wild, "Maybe Iam just over thinking..." He mumble to himself.
We then wander off to the forest and Yuuma was still hesitant about going further into the woods. "Are you sure we are going to be fine? He quivered in fear behind me.
"Ha-ha! Why are you afraid when Iam here?" Hitting my chest in a boastful manner. "The breeding season are over now it's likely that they have gone." I tells him calmly to assure him. "However even if we were to bump into a real one I will protect you...wuhahhaha!" I threw back my head and let out a loud humourless laugh, pridely.
The sound of our clumsy steps on leaves and crackling sound of dried branches could be heard through the woods as we continue to travel. The chirping and buzzing were no longer heard. There was a short silence when a sudden eerie feeling of someone- or something- watching our every move were felt. Our instincts were right. Suddenly a white wolf emerged from the bushes followed by the other grey wolves appearing one by one, growling and snarling at us. How could this happen? And why does it have to be us out of all people!? I thought in my mind. My pride and all those cool babbling talk were crushed in an instant, humiliatingly... We begin to slowly back away in fear running for our lives.
We ran wildly around and lost all sense of about direction. It became darker and scarier. And doubt coming out alive from this.
We stumbled through the woods only to come to an abrupt stop surrounded by the peck of wolves in the amidst of the forest.
We were exhausted, panting and I looked into his direction who was trembling unable to move in fear and saw his wounded feet that he had gotten where we were in a run to escape from the wild animals.
The blood was lurking them even more. They were gonna destroy the boy and I knew I had to do something to protect him. I'd rather be the prey than to watch this horrible sight terribly..
I picked up some stones nearby and threw at them. Their eyes glared approaching to my side and threatening me with their scowls. The white wolf dragged me and jerked this way and that. I screamed and kicked it but it was so huge it didn't really move.
The boy watched her getting tainted by the wild animals. He was terrified and felt helpless. He pity himself because he couldn't do anything. He sobbed and hugged himself tightly. The boy covered his ears to prevent from hearing her cries but it seem to echoed even louder....
I stopped struggling because I could barely move. I thought I was dying eyes slowly fainting and like a miracle a hard blow of gun was released into the air. The second I opened my eyes the white wolf was dead shot in the head who was the leader which scared the other wolves and moved back further away from us.
And like a blue crayon it came back to paint a colour to my world that was forgotten when I couldn't remember what the sky look like.
I only saw the silhouette of a man shooking me gently to stay with him. Blood tainting him when he embraced me with such tenderness. It was the voice that was keeping me alive. Who was this again? Ah I recognized this man. My brother and my blue crayon, Daichi...
