Elina ran with all her might and entered Jennifer's room once again. But she couldn't find Jennifer anywhere. So Elina went and hid under the bed. The door right at that moment pushed open but no one entered.
"Don't you know who stays here? Do not enter if you want to keep your heads intact" Elina heard someone warn in a hushed voice.
Her heart rate increased with every second passed. She held her breath and laid down without making any noise. In a few minutes, she heard the footsteps slowly disappear from there.
"You can come out now! I know you are hiding under the bed, Elina," Axe's voice rebuked above her head.
Elina crawled out from under the bed. She stood in front of him with a guilty expression.
"How did you find out it was me?" Elina muttered.
"How could I not know when there was a huge commotion going around this place? why won't you let me live my life peacefully even for a single day? Even if I am buried under the soil, I doubt you will let me rest in peace!" Axe complained.
Suddenly they heard the door being opened, so Axe tried to push Elina under the bed once again. The person who entered closed the door behind.
Before they could realise what had happened, Axe was pushed down and Jennifer was stamping him on her legs.
"Are you ok?" Jennifer asked Elina.
Elina just nodded her head and took pity on Axe. She mouthed a 'sorry' to him. Axe really wanted to kill her now! The trouble this young lady brought on to him was worse than anything he ever faced in his life.
Every day he was living a cowering life all because of Elina. Why does she always ignore his warning and get him in trouble? She must have been his archenemy from his previous life.
"Jenny, let him go. He is my friend. Axe knows who I am and he was the one who helped me when I was abducted before. " Elina adjured.
Jennifer took a look at Axe and then let him go.
"Really? You could have saved me several minutes before! Here I am even after learning hard lessons from my previous mistakes, I am still standing in front of you and trying to help" Axe frustratingly said.
Axe turned around to leave as he was irritated but Jennifer stopped him and asked,
"Do you know this place well?"
"Somewhat!" Axe replied.
"Then help us. I want to send her away safely" Jennifer said.
"No, with the current situation it is not feasible. We might need to wait until morning. It is better for her to stay in your room for the time being. I can only promise to make sure that no one enters your room for inspection" Axe said calmly.
"Ok, fine! But how can I trust that you won't betray us" Jennifer asked suspiciously!
Axe showed Jennifer an insignia discreetly. Before Elina could catch what Axe was showing Jennifer, it disappeared from her sight.
"Elina, can you go and get rid of your horrible makeup. It makes me want to puke." Jennifer complained.
Once Elina was out of sight, Jennifer enquired Axe.
"You are one of my dad's men!"
"Yes, I am" Axe replied honestly.
"I want to warn you about one thing. You made a mistake by sending the letter with the person who is waiting to destroy each and everyone you love" Axe apprised.
"You mean Cassie? I do not understand! You might be mistaken." Jennifer's mind went blank. She never thought Cassie would be such a person.
"I don't want to argue if I am mistaken or not. But I request you to be more cautious in the future and do not trust anyone." Aiden warned Jennifer.
"I want to know what is going on! What happened to my parents?" Jennifer demanded.
"I am sorry, I cannot tell you all the details yet. But do not send letters to the council anymore, we are all being monitored. And this letter should have never existed in the first place" Axe took the letter which Jennifer sent to Sherley and burnt it in front of her eyes.
He turned around to leave but when he reached the door, he stopped.
"We are still trying to trace your parents but one thing I can assure you for sure, Aiden is not involved in this. But still if possible keep an eye on Aiden, I am suspicious that Aiden and Jayden are not one but..." Axe showed two fingers and implied two different individuals with the same face.
Jennifer stood like a statue for a long time trying to grasp the whole situation. When Elina came out after half an hour, she shook Jennifer to wake her up from what looked like daydreaming.
Elina kept on saying something but all those were ignored by Jennifer. Even after Elina had slept, Jennifer could not sleep. She got up and went to stand outside the balcony.
The night breeze blew on her face and made her feel a little refreshed. She looked down and saw Aiden's men were still searching for Elina.
Jennifer came back into the room and laid down on the bed. She looked at Elina who was now sleeping like a baby. Jennifer pulled the blanket up to Elina's neck.
Her mind still could not rest and Jennifer wanted to know if Aiden is not Jayden, then what happened to Jayden? How is he now? She felt like someone placed a heavy rock on her chest. She struggled to breathe.
Jennifer once again got up and saw the water was empty in the jug. She decided to go outside to ask someone to fetch some water for her.
When she came out, Jennifer saw that the place once again went to silence. She turned around and locked the door to avoid anyone entering the room easily. She walked a few feet and heard someone practising boxing using a punching bag.
Jennifer hid behind a pillar and saw Aiden inside the gym. His upper body was not covered. At first, Jennifer thought to leave but suddenly she jerked up and looked at his left shoulder. There were no knife marks!
He was definitely supposed to have one! She was the one who stabbed him from his back. Aiden is not Jayden! They are two different individuals.
Jennifer held the pillar for support and tried to compose herself.
At that time, someone came behind her and asked meaningfully,
"Madam, do you need anything? You do not have to hide and see Aiden. I can call him out if you want!"
"Sam! You are the one who tried to blackmail me the other day, right?" Jennifer by now controlled her expressions.
"Oh! Please don't say such harsh words. I always try to mediate what is best for both sides." Sam replied cautiously.
"Whatever! I did not come to see him. I wanted some water but just got lost on the way" Jennifer said casually.
"I will make sure to ask someone to deliver it to your room. I remember Aiden warned you to not roam around freely. Please do understand, right now he is not in his best mood and if anything happens, then I might not be able to save you unlike the previous time" Sam warned.
Jennifer just nodded her head and almost smashed the Jug on Sam's head. But in the end, she just dropped it on Sam's hand and left the place briskly.
