Jen seemed to be confused as she took some moments before saying:
"I know we are in a brand new world, but all I cared about was the contest to rule my region, to be the king here."
I respected her honesty but also felt sympathy for her limited vision and ambition. "That's not good, as the world we are currently in is new, but has also a greater competition like the one this region has," I said, trying to explain things in her own words.
"Do you mean a king of the world?"
"Sure, but it will be a queen, and it will be me," I replied with confidence that wasn't misplaced, just like her own. She glanced at me for a while before asking:
"If I joined you, what benefits would I gain?"
