The Thief|
Before I decided to go home, I went to stop by the shore. I noticed the moon rise with its beaming tails caressed the blue sea— gleaming glow shimmery flattering wings that shone upon the pale golden sand.
That night, I've never known this will be the end of my stay in this world with such beautiful scenery.
As the night cold breeze seemingly pushed my back slightly pulling me to the shore, bringing my steps towards the sea.
As if the wind patted my hair, as it brushed softly, kissing my cheeks lightly with it whispers through my ears like a lullaby.
I missed this..
I missed those moments that make me peace and joy in my life.
Unexpectedly, I took out my heels and throw it on the side, not so far, not so near, just somewhere that wasn't touched through the water.
When I pressed my feet as the water surrounds it, standing beneath it, I let the water flow from it, letting my pain take it away. I wanted to feel the coldness inside me that seeks its way out.
And it did.
Tap. Tap. Tap..
A cascade of tears streaming down through my face, as small ripples consisting of the water, gazing at my reflection with my face laced an emotion that I didn't know that I have.
I glanced the waves dancing with my toes, and thought all the painful memories, the difficulties, and problems in life.
I let the water took them away, my frustrations, the pain, the confusion; the chaotic heart turned into peaceful beats rhymed with a soothing tone, leaving my mind with ease and peace.
I slowly rubbed the back of my palms and simply wiped the tears away.
I don't even know how long I was been there that I'm sure it's already past seven or eight o'clock at night.
I have to get ready for dinner.
I whispered goodbyes to the wind, the waves and all the nature I've been hanging out with, just when I'm alone.
I grabbed my heels and put it back on as I went my way home.
I looked up to the sky to see it as pitch black. I've never thought I lost so much time staying on the beach so late. But my home is just a few miles away so I scurried the insecure thoughts away from that I assured nothing will happen to me.
The walk was about a half-hour to where my apartment is; the empty street is surprisingly was calm and quiet enough to give me an eerie feeling.
The more steps I took, the more nervous I got. The eerie feeling of an empty, quiet street at night gave me anxiety instead of tranquility. Unconsciously, I heard the echo of my heels hitting the sidewalk quicken as I dropped into my thoughts.
The faster I get home, the faster I'll be safe.
Suddenly, I heard a groan.
Huh?
Then, it sounded again. This time I got a clear hint where it was coming from. I slowly crept into alleyway.
What am I doing?
Right, curiosity killed the cat.
And there it was, a two couple, smooching each other's throats. The way their intimate displayed I could understand what they've been doing.
Geez, get a room!
I could feel the heat rushed through my cheeks and I knew I looked like a tomato right now.
I turned around to leave that place.
When suddenly, I bumped into someone as I stumbled a little and mumble 'sorry' before walking past him so he nodded that it was fine.
I could feel the weight of my shoulders lift off weirdly as if I could something felt not right.
And it was.
The one I bumped into
stole something from me.
I looked around and find myself holding something empty. My bag.
"Bastard!"
I yelled at him furiously. I can't believe him. Of all the things that happened, she could have let her bag gets stolen with the hands of a thief!
Now, I chased him to get it back. But I know I can't catch up on him. I can't give up hope now. My money was there and my precious Vivo phone. I can't live without it. Since I still have chapters to finish up with. Wattpadlovers
"Screw him!" I cursed, seeing the culprit started getting out of sight.
I looked around and hope that someone could help me, but the road is empty.
Where are the police when you needed them to catch the crimes? I bet they're not doing their job so well.
I hated them. I felt angered, and frustrated while stomping my shoes hardly on the pavement. And continued running to God knows where that thief has run into.
I don't know where my legs leading me. I felt myself growing tiredly, slowing my pace bit by bit until I felt she could no longer move on. Due to exhaustion, I kneeled myself to the ground, trying to catch myself some breath.
And a part of me, feeling lost and stumbled into a dark alley, wishing myself to find my way out on the abandoned alley.
I chuckled myself softly, to how ironic my life would be. I thought, that someday I would be lost myself alone in the abandoned alley that no one would be helped me to bring me home safely.
Just like some stories she'd read on the books. They've got lost, abducted and lead them some kind of Magic Academy, or brought them to a fantasy world.
This is the reality we're talking about. And none of those things existed. Just as much we wanted and hoped them to be true..
I raised myself from the ground and continued my walk, not knowing where my legs brought it to.
I gasped as I felt something tingled, like an electric struck my body, passing myself like some kind of barrier, or maybe I started imagining things.
I felt the breeze, brushed on my bare skin and danced with my brown long curls on my back, shivering with the cold. Cold
I was lost in thought, not realizing that something was not quite right. I glanced at the starry night sky that shows stars, twinkling like a thousand diamonds.
I looked at my surroundings confusedly that it was just a minute passed by, was morning and now it's already 'night?'.
A dark figure passed in the midst of shadow, as I feel the hairs of my skin stood, feeling goosebumps appear on my skin.
A small voice whispered back on my mind that it was just a dream. Yeah, maybe I'm just dreaming..
I quickly pinched my arm hard on the side of the arm, wishing myself to wake up soon away with this ridiculous weird dream.
I felt pain after that, wincing at the pain. My blood drained from me when I realized that it could be true.
I almost jumped, when I heard footsteps behind me, coming towards my direction. I quickened my pace on my walk to the direction away from them.
My heart pounded rapidly on my chest as it couldn't stop trembling in fear on my body, and I also feel that my instinct is telling me that someone is following me.
Suddenly, two cold fingers jabbed on the back of my neck. I felt dizzy and ready to collapse, but soon it happened, waiting for myself with the impact and fall to the ground. But caught with the stranger's arms.
I was numb, unable to move my body, struggling to open my eyes. I know I was wide awake, I never been this panicked on my life.
No no no noo...this can't be happening!
I screamed and cried mentally.
Someone help me..please..
I heard a male chuckled while he answered me on the mind.
No one is going to help you. Filthy human girl.
I couldn't believe I heard him. Is this even real? And how dare he!
Let me go. You you...Whoever you are!
There was an amusement on his voice and replied, which I hated
You still have the strength to say that on the mouth of yours in this kind of situation. Hm?
I felt anger boiling inside of me.
Just let me go. You jerk! And I won't bother you.
He chuckled and I felt him, shooking his head on my mind.
How about let's continue our conversation later once we arrive. For now, you should sleep!
I replied panickedly.
"WAIT! You fu-"
He cut my line off, as he shut down my mind, causing me to lose my consciousness.
And everything went black.
