Alisha lay in bed and turned when she saw her screen light up. She had been feeling very excited, she didn't quite know why. Her heart beat faster when she saw it was Bryan, she had been waiting for him to message her. She could marry him one day.
"Heyyy" read her phone screen.
Original, she thought as she rolled her eyes, but a smile was painted on her face.
She answered "Hi", sticking to the chain of unoriginality. But that's just how conversations went. Bryan smiled in his room, always going against what he said. Usually, 'hey' was responded to with 'hey', but Alisha, as expected, said 'hi'.
"What're you doing?" he asked, his fingers moving quickly as she had responded quickly.
"Trying to sleep but failing. You?"
"Texting you."
"No way!"
"Ikr, it's shocking."
"I can't believe that you're doing that."
"Me either."
Both laughed, their faces reflecting the soft light of their phones, their eyes mirroring their screens.
"What were you doing BEFORE texting me?"
"Thinking about you. Thinking about what we'd be like married."
She blushed, and he did too. It was a bit cheesy but lines like that were rather embarrassing to be told. "Oh hush." she responded as she looked away from the screen, her face hot.
"I refuse, I thought it was nice. We'd be good together." He tapped her profile photo, he had taken it secretly. He felt his obsession grow, he wanted her. She would be the trophy wife he needed.
Once she said she was sleepy, he turned off his phone and stared at the woman he was lying next to. Diana looked beautiful sleeping, but she wasn't what he wanted anymore. He had grown tired of what once thrilled him because of the drug she had introduced to him. Alisha… Alisha… such a pretty name.
He kissed the white hair, he decided that this relationship was still beneficial to him. She hadn't asked him about his date, so he hadn't brought it up. They just enjoyed their sex, the feelings rested only within her. He watched as she cuddled into him but his heart felt no guilt.
The next day, when Diana woke she was alone, she shrugged and went back to her 'home'. She messaged Bryan asking him about the date.
"Alisha was different to your description." her eyes widened as she felt a pang in her heart. Bryan shut his phone when he got no response. He didn't realise that Diana was so sensitive to his message. He smirked at the sky, it was time for him to meet Alisha 'by accident'.
He bumped into her and saw that she was with another man, he was tall and rather handsome. His arm was snaked around her waist and they were clearly very close, jealousy choked up in his throat. That should be me, he thought. He wanted her, every side of her, he wanted to be her one and only. He noticed that the man with her got a call and went outside, so he took the chance to bump into her.
"Alisha, is that you?"
"Bryan!"
Richard who had just left to answer a call wasn't aware of what was happening, the night before he had gotten a message from a man called George. The message detailed that Alisha would have a blind date with him, but he ditched and instead someone called Bryan would be going. He was on a call with George who was explaining that Bryan was a sociopath that could cause harm to everyone around Alisha.
"But George, I think she might get married to him."
"No doy, she has no other way to survive, and if they marry she's stuck with him. I've never seen him so obsessed, he's already decided to dump Diana eventually. Well, dump emotionally, the sex will never stop."
Richard rolled his eyes before realising who Diana was, he suddenly spat, "Wait! Diana Richards?"
"Yes Diana Richards." George replied.
"Wait but… wow."
"It's kinda insane how much he gets around." George had always been shocked at the attraction that women had to his friend. But it made sense too, he was mysterious and dark, a bad boy they wanted to fix. For Diana he was a child that could fix her, she was the exception but she had fallen for him. And once they fell for him, he got tired and he disposed of them. There was Maria Crews, but she got too close to him, too close too quickly, and now she was left in prison.
"Holy crap!" Richard turned around and saw Alisha talking to a man. He wondered who that man was, he had no idea what Bryan looked like at this point so he assumed he was another friend.
He finished his call and went back to Alisha. He naturally leaned on her and asked her to introduce him.
"This is Bryan! I had a marriage date with him yesterday. Bryan, this is my BFF Richard."
One man tensed and the other loosened up, Bryan smiled and shook hands with Bryan who looked somewhat constipated.
"I wish we could've met before Richard. You guys should bring your friends to my winter cabin. I'll be going there soon, you guys can drop by anytime. Anyways, I'll get going, so great seeing you again." And they watched him leave.
Richard had so much to say, but he stayed silent and watched the man walk away. He had a bad feeling rise in heart but he had to stifle it, it had to be buried so deep because he knew that she couldn't run. As long as she was happy, he was happy.
Bryan on the other hand had already found out who Richard and all her friends also found out about the contact between him and George. But he knew that nothing would come out of it, he was surprised but he didn't think too much of it yet.
