Shawn went to greet her and walked back to the table.
"Evelyn, this is Amy. My girlfriend." He said. She looked up at her from where she was sitting without saying a word.
Amy was pretty, her jet black hair perfectly curled in classy waves hanging loosely around her. Her dress billowing around her in the wind. She gave a gentle almost shy smile.
Bitch! Evelyn felt her blood boil at the little homewrecker in front of her. The more sweet and innocent Amy acted the more Evelyn wanted to smack her. She stayed seated because she knew if she didn't she would have.
Evelyn breathed in deeply and held the breath for three seconds. She was angry, but she stayed collected enough to not lash out.
"Shawn," Evelyn said, finally looking at him.
"There was a clause in our prenup that states if you divorce me and commit adultery, you forfeit half of your shares of Cheng Global Corporation to me. That's 17.5 percent." She said.
"The prenup also states that if you don't bear me a child by the fifth year after our marriage I have the right to ask for a divorce. It also then only gives you the right to 5 percent." He said unconcerned.
"If adultery is committed before the fifth year, all 17.5 percent of shares are fair game." She said.
"Did you not hear me? You did not bear me a child. At the very least not up until at least 12 weeks of age!" He nearly shouted.
Evelyn quickly looked at the divorce papers. In it he specified only leaving her 5 percent of his shares as she failed to bear a child.
Evelyn looked at the document coldly. Subconsciously her hand traveled to her stomach.
"If you want me to sign the divorce papers then change the percentage to 17.5 percent as reflected on the prenup." Evelyn said.
"Are you seriously deaf? You aren't entitled to it." he said. She laughed. His eyes narrowed.
"Fine," She said getting up. She picked up the divorce papers and tore them up. They were null and void anyway.
"See you in court," Evelyn said as she tossed the papers down, grabbed the other two documents, shoving them into her bag and started to walk around them. He grabbed her arm and hissed in her ear.
"If you take me to court on this you can't win. You'll get nothing." She looked over my shoulder at him. 'We'll see,' she thought.
Evelyn walked around them and when she left the Café she picked up her phone to call her assistant.
"Mingxi," Evelyn said when the phone picked up.
"Yes Mrs. Cheng?" She answered. She cringed at the title.
"I'm at Moonlight Café. How fast can you pick me up?" Evelyn said into the phone.
"Two minutes." She said. Evelyn could hear Mingxi's door opening in the background. She lived about a minute away by car.
"I'll be out front." Evelyn said then hung up. She walked down the stairs and to the front of the building.
Sure enough, within two minutes, Mingxi pulled up in her silver car. Evelyn opened the door to the passenger side and wordlessly got in.
