Before going inside Jake pulled me for a moment.
"Ok before we go in there I wanna tell u something that might help. There's a legend that if you find a golden rock in California and throw it into Sacramento harbor with your lover or crush y'all will be together forever. I suggest you do it tonight." He then gave me a pebble that looked yellow.
"This is fake, it's not really gold." I replied.
"You don't know that " he smirked then made his way to his girlfriend.
I then put the pebble in my pocket and made my way to her group of friends hanging at the snack table
"Hey guys where's Emily" I asked
They then looked at me in disgust. "Who?" one girl asked.
"You know Emily Perkins. Y'all hang out with each other. I replied.
"Bro we are doing you a favor. I don't want to be with you. She has another go to for homecoming if you didn't know. Plus if you don't know she Only said yes to you because you helped her calculus and didn't want to hurt your feelings. She always tells us how weird you are. Your nothing but clown to her " they said
"Oh look there they are"another girl said walking to pass me .
As I turned I saw her in a blue dress holding an older guy's hand. I then understood what was going on and left the dance.
Since that day, I've been talking and hanging around Emily saying and doing everything Jake told me to do. It was almost foolproof and I think she was starting to like me.but the thing that kept worrying me was her friends. I had a feeling they didn't like me and didn't want me to be around her.
I knew something was going on until I figured out their plan.
After I left the auditorium and made my way outside I noticed Jake and his girlfriend India followed.
"Hey, wait what happened?" he asked.
"What happened!?" I furiously yelled back." "What happened, was I got played by her friends and now Emily doesn't like me anymore. She brought someone with her for the dance!" I then started pacing back and forth trying to calm myself. "What went wrong?" I mumbled.
Jake then looked to his girlfriend thinking of an answer.
"What do we do now?" he asked.
"I heard there was a party up in long-beach" she gestured.
"Just take me home guys" I said
