Wang Li Tian squatted underneath the a huge tree, drawing circles on the ground. The thirteen year old cultivator was extremely gloomy about the fact that he forgot to check out the note give to him by Elder Phoenix. "What did Elder Phoenix say to me that day?"
"Visit a shrine?" That was the only word Wang Li Tian could remember from his conversation. Standing up with a crestfallen expression, he left to look around at his surroundings.
The tropical forest was where Wang Li Tian had been teleported to. The weather was humid and it made the robes stick onto Wang Li Tian's fit body. He was getting sweaty fast. The large green trees had feared fruits that look extremely delicious. The youth plucked a few to replenish his body water content.
"I need to get points." If he wanted to get top fifty, he needed to get points fast. Normally, the weaker cultivators would try to hide around and wait for others to die first. To Wang Li Tian, such a tactic was too tedious and needed him to be extra careful wherever he went. Thus, walking around and finding an opponent is more like his style of combat.
With newfound resolve, Wang Li Tian started sprinting off in one direction. It was more efficient and it would prevent him from running in circles. Within a few short moments, he had already found his first opponent. It was an ancient demonic beast. The crystal showed the grade of the beast '2' and name 'Barebone Ape' on its surface. The crystal can also act as a detection device in the World Artefact.
Wang Li Tian did not stop in his tracks, as he continued to run at the Barebone Ape. The large white exoskeleton that covers the monkey makes it look extremely menacing. From a glance, anyone would be able to tell that the Barebone Ape has high defence capabilities. Regardless, Wang Li Tian regulate the Braveheart Aura into his sword.
"Quickdraw 2nd Style - Lunge." Focusing on a single point, Wang Li Tian planned to break through the strong body frame in one move.
"Crack!" As the braveheart aura blasted through the single point of the blade, a large vortex of the red aura spun outwards. It looked like a drill that was tearing through the hard ground. The tough exoskeleton was destroyed in a single move and the blade had pierced through its core that was located at its heart. A surefire way to end the life of a demonic beast.
After that short exchange, Wang Li Tian's feet had not stop moving as he continued to run forward. The crystal showed that he had received 5 points from the kill. The youth continued like this, blitzing through the tropical forest in a breeze. By the time the sun was setting, he had already earn himself 30 points just by killing demonic beasts. None of them were grade three demonic beasts and not once did he see another human cultivator.
It had been a fruitful day as he checked his ranking on the crystal. At the moment, there were 600 cultivators left in the world artefact. The number of deaths were to be expected for the very first day as the number of outer disciples were aplenty. In addition, the ancient demonic beasts roam this artefact. There were no safe place for human refuge.
On the crystal, Wang Li Tian's ranking was displayed as '200'. It seemed that there were others that had been able to receive points from other human cultivators. When you are killed or outed by a cultivator, you will directly receive their points. For Wang Li Tian, he did not have the chance to fight any outer disciple and so, his points was considered low.
It was very hard to pull off a feat like Wang Li Tian, where he was able to kill a Grade three demonic beast while in the middle Body Enhancement Stage. One needed to be a genius in the offensive arts to allow them to cross tiers to fight a Core Establishment Stage beast. As such, most cultivators in the world artefact would run away when they are near a stage three demonic beast.
"I am hungry." Wang Li Tian's stomach grumbled. He had running the whole time and didn't have much time to eat. Looking around his surrounding, he found a river nearby and decided to go hunting for fish. It was very easy for the cultivator catch a normal fish. Setting up a fire, Wang Li Tian settled his hunger problem with a few grilled fish. When he was finished, he closed his eye to take a nap.
Outside, in the observatory room, there were several scenes playing around the table. The battles of the favoured disciples were played by the elders. Occasionally, the scene would be switched to the unnoticed disciples that were doing well at the moment. The observatory room was used by the elders in the Academy. Just like the time during the selection test, the elders are able to inspect and observe the actions of outer disciples through various observation arrays.
"I heard this time, your disciple Jiang Rou Meng decided to participate in the competition to help his siblings out." The Pole Arts Prime Elder, Ni Xing Long commented to the Sword Arts Prime Elder, Ge Fei Xing. Ge Fei Xing was currently deemed as the next candidate to become the Great Elder of the School of Sword Arts. Although Lan You Tian, Jiang Rou Xuan's teacher, was the better sword cultivator, he already expressed that he was uninterested in becoming the Great Elder of the academy.
"Yes." Ge Fei Xing had thin eyes and a protruding mouth that made him look like he was a fish. When others asked him about his disciple, he would have an aloof expression on his face. After all, he was the one that unearthed his talent.
Although many did not really like Ge Fei Xing, they had to admit his talent in training his disciples. The 17 year old Jiang Rou Meng was already half step into the core establishment stage. Once he crossed this barrier within the year, he would be the youngest cultivator in Southern Wind Academy history to reach the core establishment stage.
