Chapter 1 - Prologue

In the West Continent, there was once a small flourishing village called Lakay. It was located in a very favorable spot. Green, luscious forest on it's left, abundant sea on right and rich soils suitable for farming on it's north and south. Lakay was ruled by a magnanimous ruler name Datu Isagani and he lived in the heart of the land in his villa called Villa Conchita. Low stone walls surrounded it. It's courtyard is filled with various shrubs, flowers, trees and even vegetables.

Datu(1) Isagani is a respected ruler. But not only that, he also has an amazing wife named Isabella who is a famous doctor of their land. Despite being on the top of the food chain, the couple were down to earth and the townspeople admired their leader as well as respected them.

Datu Isagani and Doña(2) Isabella, despite being respected and rich were not totally happy. They have been together for 5 years and they had still not concieved an heir. The burden is heavey, especially for the wife. It is her responsibility to birth an heir for her lord.

But the problem is, she is infertile and no matter what medicine she had taken to conceive it was all futile. Due to this, Datu Isagani decided to take a concubine named Pamela. Pamela was from their village and she is one of the popular one in her generation because of her beauty. Skin as white as snow, red thin lips, round innocent eyes and sweet voice, when the Datu visited his people, the young lady had caught his attention.

A month after that visit, Datu Isagani announced that he is taking Pamela as his concubine. Half a month after the said announcement, the wedding take place. Everyone is joyous of such event. A large feast that last for a week was held. Everyone was happy except Doña Isabella.

Looking at her husband whose arms wrapped protectedly around another woman make her heart ached as if thousands of knives had been plunged into it. She cried and locked herself on her courtyard. Though she attended the wedding, not ashadow was seen on her when the feast was held. The townspeople noticed this but did not mention anything. A few women pitied the first wife. It really hurts when your husband found someone else and is very doting towards the other party. But they cannot blame the Datu as well. Doña Isabella had not given him an heir even after a long time of being together.

With hate heartache and hate, Doña Isabella's mind began wondering to the other side. A side where darkness whispers in your ear. A path one must not take for there is no redemption. A path of no return. A path of vengeance and blood.
