Chapter 2 - Alyssa's Peril

"You know, just before you came in here, I was pondering over the aspects of Death, I think you can contribute a lot in this regard," said the Vampire King Neveri with a thoughtful expression on his face as his vicious scarlet eyes gaze now piercing through the helplessly floating Alyssa's form, like a predator eyeing its prey

As soon as the Vampire King's gaze fell on her, she instantly lowered her head meekly, hiding from meeting his gaze and she muttered out in a low voice

"I'm Afraid, I-I wouldn't be of that much use to his Majesty in this regard with my pitiful intelligence and experience when compared to His majesty's vast insightfulness and abundant accumulated knowledge over the countless years," Alyssa said trying to worm her way out of a situation she was put in, even though she wasn't able to grasp any sense of what he was saying, she certainly could feel a sense of impending doom laced in his words, as she tried to move her hands and legs, only to realize that such pitiful actions were futile,

"The matter of you being useful to me shall be discussed later on, now state your reason behind requesting an audience with me, I hope you were informed before walking in my castle, that I don't take pleasure in being disturbed without an appropriate reason,

It has been about 436 Years since someone visited this castle of mine, while he was a wandering alchemist looking to trade his knowledge with mine, I let him walk out alive, as for you?

your next words shall be the most important words you'll ever speak in your entire short pitiful life since your it depends on those words " The Vampire king answered with an unamused tone looking at Alyssa, like a bug that had trespassed inside his castle, an Empire's queen was only worth that much before his gleaming scarlet eyes

"I have information of significant value, that had to be relayed to his majesty at all cost with haste Before it's too late, that's the reason for me climbing the stairs of your Castle Apollyon" Alyssa replied trying her best to not let her voice distort or show any signs of unease within it, as she looked at the Vampire King's imposing yet solemn figure in the Grand throne with expectations of approval; to allow her to continue speaking her case, as she waited for his words, she felt that the time seemed to crawl by, as mere seconds felt like hours for her and her forehead was slightly graced with sweat because of the anticipation, as he raised his head and gave a slight nod signifying that she could continue with her explanation

Seeing him treat her like this did leave a bitter taste in Alyssa's mouth, but clearly, she knew better than to voice her dissatisfaction in the situation she was in, But she was grateful for his approval and felt particularly lucky and opened her mouth and started making her case, the case that she planned and schemed for two long years, which she hypothesized could very likely overthrow this Tyrant Vampire's rule over this plane, for this scheme of her's to come into fruition at all cost, she had the exact words that needed to be said, memorized in her mind months before, just for this opportunity, as she spoke confidently

"Valazerheim has been mobilizing its legion while secretly working together with two other unknown Empires as its allies, my trusted spies in Valazerheim Empire could only obtain the information that they had two other Empire's as its allies, as for the identities of which Empires it is? I was unable to find the particular intel, I hope his majesty could forgive me for my incompetence in this regard,

As for the objective they have in common for working together, it seems to be a rebellion against His Majesty!" Alyssa finished her explanation with a grand exclamation at the end as if she appealed by even mentioning it at the moment and waited for the Vampire king's enraged and incensed behaviour as she expected from him when he hears about someone challenging his authority, but the reaction she received left her stupified and dumbfounded,

she heard the sound of slow yet steady applause echoing throughout the eerie forlorn throne room when she sensed back the location for the source of the clapping sounds and identified from where it came from, her mind reeled back in surprise because the one who was clapping was the Vampire King himself, as he said in an elated tone "Magnificent!"
