____________________________________________

When Timothy Brown was a little kid, he was always distant. He found it hard to make friends even at a young age.

Due to his allergies, he always had a runny noise and red eyes, making him constantly look sick. He would always take pills or medicine but to no avail.

All the kids his age would avoid him. They'd call him gross or nasty. No one wanted to get close to him. But Timothy quickly got used to this, instead letting knowledge be his friend.

While the other kids in preschool or kindergarten were playing outside, Timothy was learning to read or writing in his journal. He was quite advanced for his age, being only about 3 or 4 at the time.

By the time Timothy was in second grade, he'd earned first place in a local spelling bee, memorized time tables 1-12, and could talk in full sentences with words even some adults didn't know. But something was missing.

Even with all his brain power, he still couldn't fill the growing void in his heart. He yearned for a friend to talk to or practice with. But no one would give him a chance.

During his last years of middle school l, Timothy started to resort to delinquency. He would be passive aggressive, talk back, or use cunning to do small pranks that he'd never get in trouble for.

Don't get him wrong, his grades still were top of his class, but he wasn't as smart as he could've been, arrogant as he had become.

Because he was never caught, students hated him. But because of his grades and flattery towards adults, he was the teacher's pet. But he still had a hole in his heart, needing to bond with someone his age who never came...
