At this point I had several options. They weren't great options but they were good enough to ensure my survival.
One. I could still try my luck at running away and leave my trust in Haruto's ability to get out of the situation.
Two. I could confront Don Claro and risk getting myself in trouble but succeeding in making him forget Haruto.
Three. I could descalate the situation and get on Don Claro's good side in order to make him leave.
With this in mind the third option seems the more ideal. But as things stand the second option might take precedence. I took a deep breath before smiling.
"The Don Claro that I know doesn't make such stupid mistakes."
Don Claro tilted his head to the side as he tapped the barrel of his pistol on his chin lightly. His golden eyes sharp as they looked at me. It was as if a hawk was assessing the situation before choosing to attack its prey.
