My arms yelled out in pain as I picked up the large barrel of gelatinized corn mash. I couldn't wipe the stupid smile off my face as I set the barrel on the shaky table. My lab mates looked at the weird concoction. They held their noses as I walked over to the cabinet at the end of the room and took out a metal stick. I shook my head as I bought it back, the lead concentration would be detrimental to the production of ethanol as it will oxidize the solution. (Will cause oxygen to enter and as a result ruin the fermentation process).
Ten minutes later several different supplies were strewn all over the ground from the cabinet as I finally found a glass-like stick which I can use as a stirrer. I bit my lip in annoyance as I remembered the limitations of the time period that I am in. Usually in modern times I would have used a contraption called a "magic mixer" which automatically mixes the beaker of solution, and in a way which was even so all the elements would mix well.
