As the sun rose and a new day begun, a tall young man could be seen standing in front of a trail of destruction. It was Ray who, once more, looked at what he did last night. The sight of the earth being split and a part of the island being obliterated while even the sea was forced to separate, he was awed be the view. To him, this was mesmerizing, especially the split sea moved something inside of him. It made him think about his past life.
'Why did I choose to come to this world?'
'Didn't I choose to come to this world exactly for something like this? To witness things I would have never been able to witness otherwise and reach heights, that would be impossible to even comprehend on earth.'
'Why did I wish for these powers even though I knew how op this would be?'
'Because I knew this world is hard on people who are weak and I needed powers to fight my enemies.'
'Who would be my enemies?'
After his thoughts reached this question he remembered something bringing him a little clarity about what he had wanted to do in this world.
'Didn't I want to become a pirate in this world and enjoy an adventure like Luffy always did. For my protection I wished for all these powers... Why haven't I become one yet? I can live my old self's dream while I search for a new goal in life can't I?!'
As he stood there, lost in his own thoughts before gaining a little clarity on his path and next steps, another young man, carrying a huge black sword on his back, walked up to him and when he stood beside Ray, he was mesmerized as well. Looking at what was in front of him, made him realize that even though people recently started to call him the worlds strongest swordsman, he would still have a long way to go. The one who made him realize that was Ray, who now seemed somewhat mysterious in Mihawk's eyes.
'JUst from where did Ray come? One doesn't just suddenly wake up with such power. He even looks younger than me...'
Mihawk thought back to last night when he felt powerless in front of Ray's sword strike and regretted to have accepted the bet. He had already given up to survive the attack but to his surprise Ray didn't attack him. Just before Ray swung his sword he turned around and unleashed his attack in another direction, sparing Mihawk's life. So not only did he loose the bet to Ray, he even owned him his life, which caused Mihawk to accept the fact that he would have to follow Ray from now on.
So when he was about to speak out to Ray, he suddenly turned towards him with a wide and satisfied smile spreading across his face and spoke first.
"Mihawk! I've decided I'll become a pirate. I will create my own crew and you are the lucky bast*** who can be my first crew mate!"
A little buffled Mihawk answered
"Wait... you weren't a pirate?"
"No, but I'll be one from now on. So on the next island we will have to find someone, who can draw a Jolly Roger for our crew."
"And do you have a name for the crew?"
"No, not yet. Any ideas?"
"Hmmm..."
Mihawk went silent as he started to think about a fitting name for their crew.
"How about sword pirates?"
"... Rejected. Anything else?"
"Swordsman pirates?"
"No!"
"Slasher pirates?"
"It's just getting worse..."
"... Ultimate sword attack pirates?"
"....
...
Are you doing this on purpose?"
Ray felt like Mihawk was making fun of him but seeing how he tilted his head with genuine confusion visible on his face, showing he didn't know what Ray meant, he just sighted and shrugged it off instead of punching him.
'Guess I'm on my own on this one. So what should I name my pirate crew? It should be a name related to me, since I'm the captain... hmmm... Gilgamesh D. Ray... !!!'
"I know what name I will give our crew!"
Ray exclaimed loudly after thinking about his current appearance and powers piquing Mihawk's interest.
"Ohh? And how will our crew be called?"
With an annoying grin Ray answered proudly, what name he chose
"Babylonia pirates!"
Ray's though process was quite easy to follow if one knew a bit about the original Gilgamesh who was the king of Babylonia. Since Ray looked like him, had his powers and even his name, why wouldn't he name his crew after Gilgamesh's kingdom. After all in his crew he would have the highest position.
"Babylonia? What's that?"
Ray's choose confused Mihawk even more so he asked since he didn't know sh** about Gilgamesh.
"Ahh you see... I think I might tell you another time since it is related to quite a big topic"
Ray didn't feel like telling him about his powers and Gilgamesh's myth and kingdom so he just shrugged it off.
"More importantly, have you packed all your things? We will leave this island in a bit."
"Everything's ready we can leave as soon as we say our farewells to the giants. I wouldn't like to leave without bidding farewell since I learned quite a bit from their Duells."
"Ok then let's go and bid our farewells."
They both went to where the giants were and said goodbye to each other, before Ray took out Vimana, shocking everyone else. They didn't know that Ray flew to this island so it was understandable that they would be dumbfounded. Mihawk was the first one to snap out of it since he was slowly starting to get used to Ray's surprises and got on Vimana after which they flew off to continue their adventure.
Like this, the Babylonia pirate crew, who would later be feared and respected as one of the world's strongest, was formed starting with a bet and one destructive move from the captain.
