5 year later
Lily sits in the hospital by her mom's side. 3 years ago, April got an unknown ailment, she had 3 years left to live.
"Hey mom, when did you get this sick?"
"It was a while ago honey, I didn't want to hurt you."
"How long do you have left?"
"A day at most"
"Why didn't you tell me? I don't want you to go."
Today was April's last day with her daughter lily.
"Lily, I want you to listen."
"Yes, mommy?"
Lily said with tears brimming in her eyes.
"When you go home, go to the attic and grab the suitcase in the corner its brown, ok?"
"Why mom?"
"You'll need it when I'm gone, it's your father's last gift for you, it was supposed to be your gift for your 18th Birthday."
"Ok mom, I will bu-"
"No but's, ok honey. Your gonna need it to live with your brother. The Doctor is here, you should head home"
The doctor walked into the room a short while ago. He was holding a clipboard and there was a nurse behind him.
"You should listen to your mother, she's in a lot of pain, this is her last day, you don't want to see her pass. Trust me."
"Bye mom, I love you so much, Sweet dreams."
Lily was fully aware this was real and not a nightmare. She could wish with all her life but nothing would happen.
"I love you too, so much you'll never know."
She stood up sobbing and walked out of the room and closed the door. She felt cold, it was summer yet she felt so cold.
Lily had to go home, as she left the hospital thoughts raced through her mind, why wasn't her brother here, did he know, what is she gonna do, why did life take her mom?
She finally got home, her brother was home, you could tell by him screaming at a game.
"F*cking camping losers I hate this sh*t!"
Lily went to his room and knocked.
*knock* *knock*
"Who is it?"
"It's me."
"Go away sh*thead"
"We need to talk, Now."
"Fine lemme get the door."
Her brother, Jamie opened the door and let her in, it was a mess.
"What do you want?"
"Mom's dead."
"What h-how what happened?"
"I don't know much, just that she was sick."
"I need to think, please leave."
"Me too, bye."
Lily left Jamie's room and went to her room
And plopped on her mattress she looked at the wall blankly.
"I need sleep, I cant think straight."
