"This is priceless, the crown prince unable to form words. What's wrong? Never been insulted like that. Let me inform you, you'll get used to it." I said coldly.
"Ith artmin sorosrelrin falonrun unerin lisorsat. (I'm sorry for your loss.)" The prince said in the Fae tongue, making me go quiet.
He wasn't sorry, how could he even say that?
"Release them."
I blinked for a moment, what did he say? The Curator paled, looking like he was about to argue- but bit his tongue and nodded. A moment later the Crackers were going around and unchaining the slaves, who cheered and hugged one another.
I smiled at the cheers and released the Captain, who gasped for breath and collapsed- coughing. Quickly, I grabbed his sword and cut the rope that bound my neck. In case they tried to hang me again. Realizing what came next, I sighed and looked at the sky.
Throwing the sword back down next to the Captain, I rolled my shoulders and glanced at the crown prince who was trying to calm down the court who was outraged. Raising an eyebrow, I jumped down from the stage. Walking over to the prince, the crowd saw me and parted- probably worried I stab them with something. The prince's gaze locked on me and turned in my direction as I strode over to him.
Without a word, I shrugged off my chains and threw them at him feet.
"Aren't you going to 'arrest' me now? Your Highness?" I asked, studying his expression for moment.
"I suppose so. I'm surprised you'd go willingly." The Prince said, picking up my chains.
I smirked.
"I've never wished to be free, only that you released them." I said, holding out my wrists- it was a lie. I wished for freedom, but I knew that giving the others their freedom... came before mine.
"Unerel loryainanaygul (You're lying)." The Prince said with an amused look. "But I accept your pride and chivalry."
I snorted at 'chivalry'.
"You're mistaken Your Highness. I'm not a knight, or a hero." I said plainly, frowning.
The Prince raised an eyebrow at this.
"Is that so... than, what are you?" The Prince said, cuffing my chains back on hesitantly- like he didn't want to... but it was probably all for show.
Shrugging, I grabbed his wrist when he went to grab the key, I pickpocketed from the Cracker beforehand. The Prince froze and looked at me.
"I'm the wolf." I said lowly, my Ashryver eyes glowering into his.
The Prince seemed to shutter a little, and I knew that was not for show. Smirking, I let go of his wrist and eyed him up and down. The Prince took the key and put it in his pocket.
"So, your highness. Where will I be staying for this lovely period?" I asked after a little while.
The Prince blinked than grabbed my chains lightly and lead me to a car.
"A carriage?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Would you rather ride on a horse for a day?" The Prince said matter o' factly, making me grumble and climb inside.
Sitting down, I realized in my state... the Prince was right. I'd pass out if I rode on a horse. A moment later the Prince climbed in across from me and taped the side of the carriage, it starting to move. I gripped the sides of the carriage, confused, a little scared, and uncertain.
"It won't tip over, and it's safer than a horse. So, you'll be fine." The Prince explained, making me relax a bit- but keep a sour expression and look out the window.
I shrugged and watched the passing trees as I left the camp area. My hair was going to be a problem, I noticed when I held the Captain hostage. I could barely see out of the corners of my eyes; it was a risk. I'd cut my hair soon as possible.
"What's your name...?" The Prince said after a while.
I didn't answer, only glanced at him. Why was he trying to make conversation? I was his prisoner... was I not?
"You don't need to know, I'm your prisoner... nothing more." I mumbled, shifting the chains on my wrist as emphasis.
The Prince went silent, making me think the conversation was over and turn my gaze back to out the window.
Suddenly, there was a strong tug on my chains- making me fly forward. Stopping myself, I put my hands on the carriage wall.
"You aren't my prisoner. Stop talking like I am the evilest thing ever to walk the middle earth." The Prince said, making me realize the position I was in.
He was in between my arms, slightly underneath me. But his eyes, they were what distracted me. They were so full of... sadness, it was like the slaves at the execution. It made me want to say 'I'm sorry' repeatedly, even though my pride forbids it. Sighing, I covered his eyes with my hand- sitting back down.
"In Don't look at me like that..." I mumble, the prince opens his mouth like he wants to say something. But surprisingly he stays quiet, reaching up and removing my hand from his eyes.
I left my hand fall back at my side, looking away.
"Faloan, that's my name your highness." I said lowly, knowing I was slowly losing my touch. But I'd allow it this once, for that type of sadness... you could never fake.
"You are Fae then... am I right?" The Prince said, looking at me- the sadness fading a little.
I sweat dropped and frowned, staying silent.
"You spoke the Fae tongue and I did notice your ears, as well your beautiful and unique eye color."
I blinked for a moment, um what? Did he just say my eyes were 'beautiful and unique'? My eyes narrowed a bit, searching his face for any lies or falsity. But... I found none. He meant what he said...
"If you wish to know... yes, I am Fae. What are you planning?" I said coldly, looking him up and down. There was no way he was asking all these questions for interest.
The Prince looked at me with a confused and amused expression, that's when he started to laugh. The sound echoed off the walls of the carriage, making me think I said something funny... when I didn't.
"Why do you laugh in my face?" I asked, frowning.
"No, no. It's nothing, just... why do you always think I have an ulterior motive?" The Prince asked, then looked out the window.
That was impossible... right?
