I watched as a tear ran down her cheek. Why was she crying? Did something happen to her? I was so focus about Serena that I forgot about Flora. I subconsciously gently pushed the crying Flora away and stood up. Fawn and Arthur already arrived where we were. Fawn kneeled next to her and patted her head. I don't understand what was so scary for her to cry like that. I wanted to help out Flora, but Serena was also crying.
"I'm taking Flora home." Fawn helped Flora up. Fawn was a great brother, even though he was only seven. I watched as Flora and Fawn started to walked to wards the exit that Serena wasn't at.
"Alright." I turned to Arthur. "Can you walk them out? Also, take Ami to mom."
Arthur gave me a nod and left with them. I walked towards Serena. Serena looked down as I approached her. She got even shorter than two weeks ago. I crouched down and looked up to meet her teary eyes. I gave her a cheery smile, hoping that would cheer her up. Her eyebrows scrunched up even more. I brought up my finger and touched the area between her eyebrows. She looked at me wide-eyed.
"You know, you are going to have wrinkles if you do that for too long." I gave a little smirk. "Do I have to call you grandma from now on?"
Serena blinked twice, then she took a step back. I tilted my head in confusion as I noticed it and look back up at her. She was squinting her eyes in anger. And the next thing you know, I was grimacing in pain as I laid down on the ground while clutching my stomach. She had kicked me. I heard chuckles from behind. I saw two guards, one was a red-headed girl and the other was a black-hair guy.
"I dare you to say that again?" Serena had a confident smile as she looked down at me. She crossed her arms and stood up straighter. I got up with a grunt. I closed up on her until we were only like five inches apart.
"I said I might have to call you grandma if you have wrinkles." Serena tried to punch me in the face, but I grabbed her hand and twisted her hand around. Making her twirl as I forcibly turn her around. So her back was facing me with my hand gripping her arm. I watched as the guards reached for their swords. She was a princess after all. I pushed her a little forward as I released her hand. As soon as I did, the guards released their sword. I used to tease her like this all the time back at the palace, so why were the guards protective now?
I heard a soft growl. I looked behind to see Ari had taken an offensive stance and was looking right at Serena. Serena also looked around to see who growled and gasped as she saw Ari. The guards stood in front of Serena and held out their swords to Ari.
"Wait! She means no harm." I walked in front of them and put my arms up. I looked back at Ari.
'Stop it! They are friends, not enemies.'
'But they might have attacked you because of that girl.'
'I told you they are our friends, so stop growling at them.'
Ari let out a huff and sat down, but she still glared at Serena. Oh boy, this was going to be a hassle.
'Come here, but slowly. I don't want to alarm them.'
Ari slowly walked over to me and climbed up to my head. She was hanging off of my head. She looked smaller than she looked before. Was I just imagining her becoming bigger?
The guards still didn't let down their guard.
"Aww, she is so cute. Can I pet her?" You, that was definitely Serena.
"But, your highness."
"It's fine. Alex got it under control." Serena walked over to me and smiled at Ari, but Ari still was mad. She gave a small glare at the guards when they didn't put back their swords. She smiled at them when their swords were put back. Serena looked back at me.
"Can I touch her?" I looked at Ari nervously, hoping she would abide. Ari looked at me, then flicked her head away. Serena was already a step ahead. She was coming in to touch Ari but pulled her hand away as Ari snapped at her incoming hand. Ari let out a disapproval grunt towards Serena.
"I'm sorry about that. I don't know why she is like this sometimes." I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I turned around to see Helga.
"Young master, Miss Flora wants to see you before she leaves." I nodded and motioned Serena to follow me. We walked all the way to where Flora and Fawn. There were at the front door and looked ready to leave. Ari jumped off of me and ran to Flora.
"Are you alright Flora?" Flora nodded slowly. Her cheeks were puffy and red. They were clear signs that she had been crying. Flora wasn't even paying attention to me. She was looking past me and looking at Serena. Everything was so quiet.
"I'm going." Flora turned her attention to me. Ari jumped off and ran to my side. Flora walked to me and tiptoed to give me a hug. Uh-oh. I felt Fawn's glare even though I didn't look at him. I wasn't the one who started it though. "Bye, Alex." I waved back at her and watched them leave. I turned to see Serena glaring at me. What did I do though?
Serena walked off into the direction of the living room. I looked at Ari.
'What happened?'
'Baba, you are too dense.' Ari walked in the direction Serena went to.
"Hey Ari, what did you mean by that.' I waited for her response, but none came. 'Ari?... Oh, come on.' I walked after Ari and Serena. Why were girls so moody?
