She got up from the bed and heard footsteps walking away from the door. She waited a couple seconds then opened the door, her clothes were clean and folded. She picked them up and went to change. She decided to sit at the tables she saw last night. As she went down the hall she could hear people talking. As she reached the end of the hall she looked around the seating area, a few people sat around eating all of them had wolf like tails and ears. She also noticed they were all silver in different patterns. Nothing to dark it never went to actual black. But there was aslo no brown or reds even. There was no way all these people were related their fur was the same color but they all looked very different.
She went and sat at an empty table it looked hand made, where the wood swirled together it looked like gold was pressed between them. She traced the pattern with a finger lost in thought. "Good morning little lady, did you sleep good?" Mari sat down with her.
"Good morning... I slept okay I guess, I had a really weird dream." She looked at Mari.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that dearie. Care to tell me what it was about?" Mari put her hand over hers it was so nice and warm.
"It was about this big white wolf, and there was like fog all around. I don't know its a little foggy. I think there was..." She remembered Jolon was in her dream but she continued "another wolf with silver fur and he was hunting me." She looked up to Mari her face look slightly shocked.
"Someone was after you and a White wolf saved you. Are you sure it was totally white?" Mari put a lot of efence on white. She looked at her with some confusion "Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was white."
"Okay, that's okay dearie. So this silver wolf that was hunting you was it actually a wolf?"
"No. It was a Lupen, you wanted me to tell you about why I was here so late. I think the man who saved me yesterday was going to trade me to a slave trader." her voice cracked slightly she was getting emotional again.
"That is a very serious accusation dearie are you sure." Mari's voice was full of concern.
"Yes, I heard him talking to a strange scary man. He said that he needed to trade me to get someone else, or something like that. It really freaked me out. Then he gave him these giant handcuff things." Her heart started to race again just thinking about it.
"Please dearie tell me more." Mari urged her on.
"He told me his name was Jolon. I'm not sure how far away we are exactly but I left his cabin and went left on the road." She tried to think about how long she rode till she got there but she couldn't remember.
"He told you his name was Jolon?" Mari looked vary confused.
"Yeah, why do you know him?" She started to panic.
"No, no dearie don't worry. Its just that is the last name of the Royal family of the Nemet Kingdom. Their allies to this kingdom but over the seas. There also black Lupen not silver." Mari seemed lost in thought.
"What's the difference between them? Do black Lupen not live in this kingdom?" She tilted her head slightly
Mari squinted her eyes and inspected her "Your a human aren't you. But your from earth."
"I... Yes, I am. I don't know how I got here it just kind of happened."
"Its okay dearie sometimes people open portals that shouldn't but you'll get back home." Mari looked around nobody was paying attention to us so she continued. "On the northern continent only silver Lupen live here, there not as violent as black Lupen commonly. So there for black Lupen exclusivly live on the southern continent, their larger then silver Lupen. They frequently beat us in brute strength, but were more agile."
She looked strait "So Mari, Jolon or whatever his name is said someone with aether magic, do you know anyone like that?"
"Yes, I know of some people that can. Aether magic is complicated not many know how to use it properly." Mari said very matter of fact.
Renaldo showed up with some food and set it out for the both of them. "Thank you!" they said in unison. They enjoyed a light meal it was some fluffy pancakes, and fruit that she couldn't place but was incredibly sweet.
After their meal, Mari showed her about silver Lupen currency and a map with instructions on where to go and who to talk to. She pulled out her phone to take notes. "Oh, I didn't know you had a phone how about I give you our number." Mari said looking rather excited. "I actually don't have any bars here so my phone is pretty useless."
"That's no problem you just need to get it upgraded to use vision towers. There is a electrician store at this location." Mari circled a building on the map.
They gave her some money and food. She was sad to leave these people showed her so much true kindness she didn't want to leave that behind. Maybe she could come back some day. She headed out to the back side of the building and saw the stables. Arrow was standing at the ready and as she got closer she noticed other animals in stalls. One looked like a ostrich but more colorful and it was definently larger, it gave out a loud caw. She didn't see any other strange animals the horses all looked normal just on the larger size.
She went to inspect Arrow's saddle and noticed Renaldo added a saddle pack and blanked. The pockets looked full but she didn't feel like inspecting it right now. She hopped on to Arrow and noticed a short sword was strapped to his right side, she's never used a sword before but anything to help keep her safe was useful.
"Lets go." she made some clicking noise and Arrow set off. The road was much livelier then when she first went on it, lots of wagons. The wagons pushed past the snow with ease leaving clear grooves. This confused her since they seemed so intelligent why didn't they use cars. The wagons had various goods, it has to take longer to get thing from one place to the other. She looked around as they trotted down the road, the tavern and a general store where the only buildings in that area. The snow was almost completely gone, small trails of water leading off the road.
They continued on checking the map ever so often, they made it through two more small town like areas before the forest thinned out and they started passing by farmland.
