I stop fighting him and bite my tongue. I don't like being carried like this but I'm in an unfamiliar place and time, I'll behave and listen. Maybe he sees or knows something I don't. Once we're back inside, he allows me to get down and suddenly lifts his right hand.
A silvery light appears before it suddenly takes off in the air. I watch it disappear and ask "What was that?" He leads me back over to the small table and pulls the chair out for me but I choose to keep standing. I cross my arms and give him a pointed look.
He curtly nods his head and starts to slightly pace as he says "I sent a message to the Queen." I frown at him and decide to leave it. If he called her, I will ask her for answers. She's more open with me. I turn to the left and decide to check out some of the plants. Something has spooked him... the kiss? No, I think it was the wind and what the woman said.
Soul something... I didn't quite catch it but he suddenly started acting weird after that. I guess I'll find out when Queen Cara comes back. I look back to Kian to see him still pacing so I sigh and go back to looking at the plants. He's clearly too busy freaking out...
A bright yellow and orange flower catches my eye so I walk over to it to get a better look. It's breathtaking... it doesn't look real and if I'm not mistaken, it's slightly glowing. When I lean in closer, the flower opens wider and leans into me.
My eyes light up with excitement as I lean in closer and lift my hand. The flower seems to follow my hand and glow even brighter the closer I get. I lean in so close, my fingers are almost touching its soft petals when Kian suddenly grabs my wrist and pulls me back.
Startled, I look up to him in confusion. He looks at the flower then back to me as he says "Don't touch anything. If a piece of paper can cut you... I have no idea what the flowers could do." He then starts pulling me back to the table as I stumble after him in confusion.
I look back to the flower to see it dimming in light and slightly closing the further away we get. I try to pull away from him but this time his grip is a little tighter as he says "Please, just sit here where I can keep you safe."
He pulls the chair out with his free hand and sits me in it before he starts pacing again. I lift my hand and place it on top of the table with a smirk. I begin tapping my black nails on the table as I say "Why are you acting as if I'm some kind of child?"
He continues to pace as he says "If only I could. You're worse than an elf child in terms of strength. Paper... maybe I should speak to the queen about creating a safe space for you... on the first level so you can't fall and hurt yourself. Wait... what kind of food do you eat? How much water do you need? What about sleep?"
I pick up the delicate cup and use my magic to shatter it, causing the tiny pieces to cut my hand. My red blood drips down onto the table as I open my hand to show Kian. He stands absolutely still as if he's in a state of shock before running over to me.
He tries to grab my hand as he says "What have you done!? Are you okay? Hold still, I'll heal you." I snatch my hand back as I say "I told you, I'm like a weed." I hold my hand away from him but still where he can see it as my magic begins to quickly heal my hand.
Once I can feel the bleeding has stopped, I use my magic to then repair the broken cup while he watches everything with surprise. "You can... fix things like the Queen?" He asks in a soft whisper. I nod and say "I can fix me and non-living things. Yes, I cut and bleed but I also heal. Please stop... whatever this is."
He was currently still kneeling in front of me so we were both at eye level with each other. He lifts a hand and drags it down his face as he says "I apologize... I was worried and overreacted." When we both hear a tinkle of bell laughter, we turn to find Queen Cara watches us with eyes full of humor.
Kian quickly jumps up and clears his throat as he says "I apologize for pulling you away from everything." Queen Cara waves him off as she says "I was bored, you two saved me. What was so urgent?"
When she looks to me and sees the leftover blood, I quickly shrug and use my magic to dissipate the blood. She frowns at me with a clear look full of questions but Kian says "Soul recognition... Eris and I... we..."
This time I'm frowning as I say "Soul recognition? What's that?" Queen Cara is no longer looking at me though. She was currently staring at Kian in disbelief as she says "That's impossible. She's not from our time."
I lift my hand up like a good little student and say "'She' is currently sitting in the same room and 'she' wants to know what a soul recognition is." They both turn to look at me at the same time but neither one says a word.
I look between the two of them until I see Queen Cara getting lost in her thoughts. I focus on her as I say "I'm trying to be polite here but you two are making it a little difficult for me at the moment. Please tell me what it means before I lose my patience."
She looks to me and says "Is there something you haven't told us?"
