Chapter 1 - The Rebel Daughter.

Artemis tried extremely hard to stray away from the weirdness that was her family. Having parents who named her after a Greek goddess, insisted she learn how to use every weapon under the sun and read palms on the weekend was weird. Not to mention that they spent the first ten years of her life looking for the lost city of Atlantis. Their constant need to make sure she was capable of taking care of everyone else when the "prophecy" came to light gave her an apathetic feeling to other people. Why the hell should she have to take care of everyone else when her own parents couldn't even be bothered to care for her well being beyond whether or not what she was doing would affect the fate of the world.

So, no one could really blame the reasonable daughter of the town crazies for filing for emancipation at 16, later asking for protective services to whisk her away because she was afraid of the cult her parents were following. Artemis being the smart reasonable girl she was just happened to have recorded some of her parents conversations with friends that talked about her being some sort of pseudo messiah and the eventual fall of the government.

The government had been reasonably interested in that tidbit and if she'd left out the part where she could literally make plants grow, talk to animals and do certain other oddities, well that's just between her and the plants.

Now at eighteen she owned her own green house under a different name in a different state. Her once ice blond hair was a pretty auburn that went well with her dark brown eyes, Allison was a fitting name for her new look much better than Artemis. After removing herself from under her parents thumb she'd gone full rebel from their beliefs of a "pure" savior, with a nose ring, eyebrow piercing and two full sleeves.

The tattoo artist across the street from her main shop liked to call her the punk florist and honestly the moniker had become one of her favorites. Much better the punk florist than the girl with a goddesses' name and the fate of the world depending on her.
