Trying to get away from the crowd, Alexa and Mark enter a park to reason better about recent events.
"Who knew we would go through this one day..."
"Don't worry. We're going home tomorrow. We will soon forget about it."
"I know, but I'm a little disappointed in myself for leaving it like that."
"It was good that we did that. The less we get involved in it the better."
"Why don't you ever want to participate in anything?"
"Why do you always want to participate in everything?"
Again, Alexa found herself having to deal with Mark's discouraging attitude. But at least, this time he was not sleeping. All this tumultuous sequence of events meant that they had something to talk about on this trip, and she was satisfied with that.
"Hey, that's…"
Mark points to a woman in the distance. But she was not an ordinary woman. She was a very beautiful woman, with extravagant clothes that would catch anyone's eye, trying to buy a crepe from an extremely frightened seller.
"Aaaaaaa! The godness!"
"Quick, let's get out of here before she realizes... hey!"
Without Mark realizing, Alexa had disappeared from his side. She was now approaching Caelia, who was trying to toss a 500 Éclats bill into the salesman's face.
"Why don't you give it to me? I have money, don't I?"
"A-As I said, if you give me this note I won't be able to change it!"
"Then you can have everything."
"Even if you say that..."
"Hey!"
Caelia turns. A girl she had seen before looked at her with folded arms.
"What are you doing?"
"Uh? You're that girl from before."
"You can buy 15 crepes with this money, you know?"
"I see. I didn't know."
Caelia again offers the money to the seller.
"15 crepes, please."
"E-Ehh?!"
Alexa lets out a sigh.
"Here."
Alexa gives the correct amount of money in coins to the seller. Caelia receives the crepe she wanted in return.
"Thanks."
"What are you doing here? Aren't you a goddess?"
"Now you believe me?"
"After all this confusion, I have to."
"Good. But I don't need your help anymore."
"Even though I just helped you?"
Caelia turns her face, ashamed.
"So, shouldn't you be at the castle?"
"I was, but it looks like they don't need me anymore."
"And what are you going to do now?"
"First, I'm going to eat this."
"And then?"
"…Then I think."
"Ehh..."
Alexa is discredited by the goddess's relaxed behavior. It was hard to believe before, but now that she's sure of her identity, it's even more impressive.
"You finished?"
"Oh, Mark. I forgot you."
Mark had been listening to the conversation for some time now.
"You're that boy..."
"Don't call us that way. My name is Alexa and his is Mark."
"Alexa and Mark. I'll remember."
"It's good that you're getting along, but don't you think we should go somewhere else? There are fewer people here, but you can still get attention."
"It's true. Let's go to an isolated place."
Caelia accompanies the two students to the less crowded parts of the city. They didn't know the city much better than Caelia does, but they know that the best thing to do is to get away from the central area, where most of the sights are.
"Is it tasty?"
"Yes."
"I didn't know that goddesses ate crepes."
"It's the first time that I'm eating."
"Ah, it makes sense."
Mark looks at the goddess chewing on the crepe, a sight he would never have imagined. Unable to deal with the situation any other way, he decides to participate in the conversation.
"I didn't know goddesses ate in the first place."
"I don't really need to. Goddesses do not depend on a metabolism to survive, like most living beings."
"So why were you buying food?"
"Well, it looked tasty, so..."
Caelia hides her face behind the crepe, which was blushing. Alexa decides to give a word of comfort.
"Okay, okay. You don't have to apologize for that. By the way, where did you get so much money?"
"The man in uniform gave it to me."
"Man in uniform?"
Mark puts his hand on his chin.
"It must be one of the queen's military."
"Yes. I believe his name is Claude..."
"Oh, I know this man. He is the head of public security, one of the queen's most trusted men."
Alexa had already seen this man being mentioned a few times on television. He is the nation's military leader and always comes up when issues related to the country's security on a larger scale are discussed. It was to be expected that the awakening of the goddess would be sufficient reason to make him act.
"What did you discuss there?"
"My future..."
"So?"
"It seems that this world has no place for me."
Caelia stops walking. She looks at the crepe that has already eaten half.
"Before, I reigned this world and made all the decisions… now everyone is able to make their own decisions. They don't need me anymore. I don't have a purpose."
Realizing Caelia's distress, Alexa holds her hands, making her raise her head. She welcomes her with a smile.
"So you're like us now."
"What?"
"You know, nobody is born because they want to. Everyone is looking for their place in the world, their purpose. It's what gives meaning to life. If you feel like you missed it, just find another one."
Alexa's speech opens Caelia's eyes.
"But I am a goddess! Do you think people will accept me if I reject it?"
"Who cares what others think? They must respect you for who you are, not the other way around."
Caelia knew that there was a certain reason in Alexa's words, but it was difficult for her to accept. All her life she was a goddess and acted like one. The feeling of being on the same level as others was something new and uncomfortable for her.
"That's right. If people are judging you for being a goddess, just don't be a goddess."
"What do you mean?"
"Here it comes."
Marks sighs. He knew that Alexa was up to something he wouldn't like.
"We will use this money to transform you into a human."
"What?"
"Let's go! Operation: humanize the goddess!"
"Wait, what does that mean ?!"
Alexa takes Caelia by the hand and runs across the city. Mark follows them, imagining the mess that Alexa was planning… "This was far from over," he thought.
