Chapter 5 - Chapter 3 Can he meet Hazel?

Reese noticed just like how she was trying to read his mind, Harlow was also trying to do the same with her. Judging by his expressionless face, she truly could not make out why he was so adamant in staying at their office. He could have come at a later time of the day if he wanted to discuss the payment they made as a deposit when they booked us.

'Maybe that is the reason why he is asking me to have coffee with him. Did he think that if he could somehow convince me then I could put in a good word to Ms. Hazel and get that money for him?' She wondered as her face turned dark.

'How could he even think that I would do that for him? It's against the company policy to even meet a client outside of office hours or for any other personal reasons,' Reese thought as she gripped her hands together while staring at Harlow.

More importantly, she was the one who suggested that policy be put on the handbook to Ms. Hazel. When she noticed that some clients tried to use their employees as their personal assistant rather than wedding planners.

She could never go against those policies that she wrote along with Ms. Hazel. So, she coughed twice as if she was clearing her throat and at the same time her clogged mind became very much awake.

'Once I find a proper excuse to escape from him, maybe he will lose his hope and could even leave from here,' That's what she thought without knowing the adamant mind of Harlow.

Then as she tried to put her plan in motion, she spoke to Harlow in a complaining tone, "Cough… cough… Please excuse me, Mr. Harlow. I cannot come with you to drink coffee right now. As it was so early when I got the call from the security guard, I didn't even get time to brush my teeth and neither did I get that peace of mind to drink my coffee leisurely today. As it is still considered too early for normal people like us, we prefer to sleep a little more…"

She turned her wrist to check the time on her watch but only to find it missing on her hand. She must have forgotten to wear one when she rushed out of her house after getting that call from the security guard.

With a scrunched face she continued to say, "My mom always told me that getting enough rest before starting the work day is very important. So, I have always kept it as my slogan and considered it to be one of the chief principles in my daily schedule. Since it was already spoiled by rushing over to the office so early in the morning today, I am feeling a little sick and tired. From the time I started working for Ms. Hazel, I never once had such an opportunity to check in so early in the morning. So, I am hoping to go to my cabin and sleep for sometime until my colleagues come in later."

She continued to press the words 'early in the morning' so many times to make sure that Harlow understood that his way of behaving right now is considered to be very rude. Even though he was thought to be a prospective client, she expected at least a bit of decency. She thought that after understanding the hidden meaning behind her words, he would definitely leave from there.

But Harlow had already made up his mind and even a hurricane cannot stop him from meeting Hazel today. So, he dropped a sweet smile at Reese even after hearing her harsh words and nodded his head in understanding.

"I did want to ask you earlier, why did you come so early in the morning? Didn't your office timing start at 9 AM? It really is considered as too early for someone to come to work unless you work in shifts. I hope there is not an early morning wedding scheduled today," He asked her with an eyebrow raised on his forehead and a concerned voice.

His intention was not to hold her back or make her miss her needed sleep. If she wants to leave then she can! He only wanted to wait here until he could see his first love. It's very simple!

'Is he joking or does he really not understand why I came to the office at this time of the day? Moreover, did I not tell him earlier that I am going to sleep in my cabin?' Reese wondered and a slight huff escaped her mouth despite her being trying to have patience. She then rubbed her forehead in annoyance.

Before she could answer him, he continued to say after noticing the little almost unable to hear noise she made,

"Since you are tired and sick, I think as you suggested you should go and take some rest in your cabin. So, please go ahead and do not worry about me. I will sit in the reception and wait until Hazel comes to the office."

'What???? I cannot believe this guy's atrocity. Does he think he owns the company or what!!!' Reese almost had the urge to pull Harlow's collar and push him outside.

"Or you could simply go back and come again when the office opens for the day today, SIR!! I am sure, you might have some work to take care of outside," She said in between her gritted teeth.

she still did not want to accept defeat yet while pointing her hands towards the door to him. She had already lost to him several times today, so she was not ready to lose to him again. Until the end, she wanted to try her best and see if she could succeed even once against him.

"Oh! No! No! I don't have any work to do outside today. Since I took care of all the pending files yesterday night itself. I am completely free for the day. So, I will wait until Hazel comes here," He said with determination.

Reese had faced several difficult clients, especially after being in this industry. But she had never faced such an overbearing client. She had told him several times directly and indirectly to leave from here but he would not budge.

'Should I ask the security guard to throw him out as a last resort?' She wondered as she glanced outside.

While Reese was in her own thoughts of how to resolve the biggest Man problem in front of her, Harlow rubbed his hands together as he felt slightly chilly.

"Is there a coffee shop nearby? I would like to drink some as I feel like I am getting a little cold."

'If you are cold, then just go home. Why are you here torturing everyone else?' She thought as she could not figure out the person in front of her.

At once, some thought popped up in her head and she lifted her head hurriedly. She then pondered,

'Did he get kicked out of his house as he told his parents that he would cancel the wedding with that crying girl? Poor man!'

As that thought came across her mind, she immediately felt a little pity for him. Because if not for that then no one would be standing here and trying their best to not leave even after she kept on insisting that he should leave indirectly and directly.

She took a deep breath and said in a mild tone, "I don't think any shops would be open at this hour. We have a coffee machine in the pantry. Let me get you a cup of coffee from there. It might not taste like a coffee you buy from the coffee shops but I can promise that we have great flavors."
