On the next day, the upper society was shaken once again when a news article about Min Corporation acquiring 30% of shares in Lee Group was out. The same amount of shares owned by Adamson Lee was also leaked to the public. It made a huge uproar when they got to know that Min Corporation was in par with Lee Group. And that they were planning to take over the administration.
Many of the business tycoons started to get restless as the king of economic, Adamson, seemed to be put under pressure. They couldn't believe the news since it may be just a baseless rumor. But many mouths couldn't stop talking about it. The hot piece of news started to gain another attention as Min Corporation's stock was pilling up to the highest. As one of the top five company in the country, many would be placing a great hope in Min Corporation as of right now, it was the only corporation that could rival Lee Group.
The one that was in the center of everything was none other than Liam Min, the only son of the current president of Min Corporation. His face wasn't all that familiar in the company itself, since he had worked from home and never once set his foot in the building. But his capabilities in managing the business and securing contracts were all well known in the area. Many knew of his name but not his face.
Meanwhile in the foul afternoon at Lee mansion, Adamson was seating quietly in his personal office. It was not to compare with his real office at the company, but sometimes he worked from here. There were no important data being kept here, it was just like a normal study.
"Report.", he said. His voice held some authority and it didn't seem to falter even knowing what he might hear from the head guard.
The man in black straightened up as he put a file on the desk just right in front of Adamson.
"Chairman Lee, we found Silas Lee's whereabouts. It's at Prime Hospital, in VVIP room 01."
Adamson couldn't stop himself from forming a smirk on his face. He had doubts before.. but now he got the answer.
Aubrey got help from those underworld assassins and brought Silas to the hospital. What more, it was Prime Hospital. The best private hospital in the country and of course the security would match a level of importance.
But to have access for VVIP ward in Prime Hospital was not an easy feat. It must go through the most important people in the management. To be precise, someone other than Aubrey was aware of Silas' condition. Someone from the hospital..
".. Lucy Kim.", Adamson chuckled darkly after mentioning the name.
He knew Lucy wasn't a small fry that could be smashed like a bug. She was from one of the upper class family. The Kim that controlled the medical field of the country. While her family was not that much of a match compared to the Lees, it was still a fact that she was one of those high class women to the public. And Aubrey's move to deliberately make headlines together with Lucy was one perfect scheme. He was declaring himself to be in a relationship with Lucy and many eyes now trailed over them. Adamson couldn't touch her, at least openly.
"Call her in.", Adamson pushed the file aside as he knocked on the desk with his fingers, like playing an invisible piano on the surface.
A moment later, Elena Cha stepped into the cold room, she took a glance over the air conditioner, it was set beyond normal level. No wonder it was freaking cold.. and usually, Adamson only set it this way when he was in a bad mood.
"How's the company?", Adamson played with his fingers without glancing over her.
"Majority of directors are calling for an emergency board meeting. CEO Lee is the lead and he plans to attend it tomorrow morning.", Elena explained.
She tried not to show her worries in front of Adamson. She knew what he was capable of. There was no way he would be taken down like this. Adamson had gone through worse enemy before.
"Chairman Lee, if I may..", she faced the man who was too relaxed even in such situation.
"Spill it."
"I have doubt that it is planned by CEO Lee himself. Why did you put him as the CEO? He is too new to handle the company and now he wants to revolt against you.", Elena couldn't help but voice her concern.
She somehow was being biased towards Aubrey. He came from nowhere out of the blue, now he wanted to go against Adamson who had been working hard to establish Lee Group in the whole business world. And exactly, she didn't know a single damn thing regarding Adamson and Aubrey's real situation. While she was given a big task of handling the company as Adamson's right hand, she didn't know what he did everytime he came back to the mansion for the last seventeen years..
Though she already got the clue regarding his real corrupt and dark nature in the underworld, she didn't know that Aubrey had experienced it head on, numerous times.
Adamson went silent. He felt like laughing his ass off but it was not even funny. From Elena's point of view, it was him in the right and Aubrey in the wrong. But he knew well enough that it was the other way around.
"Why can't he go against me to get back what's rightfully his..?", he mumbled in a low voice and his personal secretary couldn't even hear him well.
"..?", and Elena decided not to ask.
"Well.. it's just a little game for fun. Why not sit back and watch how he's going to play it..?", Adamson said as he linked his fingers from both hands together, his elbow on the desk.
"What do you mean, chairman Lee? Shouldn't we stop him?!", Elena became curious as well as anxious.
"I'm not in a rush to end this quickly.. I'll just take my time observing.", he cracked up a smile. His face was painted with confidence.
"But that Q is a bit troublesome I admit..", his face grew darker within a split second. Picturing a man who could rival him in power.
