Chapter 4 - Aubrey Lee

Aubrey Lee had no choice but to do it. He was sick of this entire life. He was alive in a living hell, he didn't want to continue living like this. So he decided to escape- again. Being caged for all his life in the mansion took a toll on his mental health.

He was not allowed to go outside, he was only able to study with a private tutor until he was eighteen. And he was forced to study business with a program online, in one of the top universities.

Being born with quite a high IQ despite the unhealthy surrounding, Aubrey had landed himself an MBA while only taking the courses full in distance learning.

Being denied of his own freedom was not the only reason he wanted to escape. Aubrey was originally an introverted type, so he didn't like getting along with people.

He didn't want to escape mainly because of gaining freedom. It was because of the pure hell he had to endure for every week, on Saturday night when that man came home..

Aubrey always wanted to run away every week before Saturday came. But he failed everytime. The mansion was full of that man's people. There was no one he could trust. He had lost faith a long time ago.

Today was Friday, a day when he planned to run again. Although the black-suit people outside of his room were standing by the door, not letting him outside in the name of damn protection.

He was willing to die if he could not escape today. Aubrey walked in haste inside of his spacious room. There were a king-size bed across the room by the wall, a set of television, sofa, desk and a shelf full of books surrounding the entire four-side walls.

His room almost seemed like a library if there were no other things here. Whoever was trapping Aubrey in his own room since seventeen years ago must be pampering him to death. Because there were a set of home theater, a set of computer with two monitors and they seemed to be the most expensive ones too. His room was also full of anything new.

With his own wardrobe consisted of a brand new items of clothes from the recent season. A private bathroom that was big enough for twenty people to fit in.

But he didn't want all this. He was not willing to trade his normal life just to be trapped in a beautiful cage. Even if he was not trapped here, he was still a young master of Lee family.

He could afford all these himself. Except for the fact that his entire personal ID card, bank card and what else were in that man's possession. He was truly treated like a prisoner.

Aubrey had once tried to get those men on his side, using his name as a young master of Lee family. But all was in vain. Because that man's standing was far above him. He was now the chairman of Lee Group.

Then where was his grandfather? What happened to him? Did that man killed him too? Like what he did to his parents? He had to accept the bitter revelation at an age of thirteen when he came to know the truth regarding his grandfather.

Today was the day.. where Aubrey put all his remaining broken faith in himself to get away from here. From his own home. He had secretly training his body for this day to come. He purchased some set of gym equipments from online to train his muscle.

That man never wanted him to learn any self defense classes. He was keen on not giving Aubrey even a spark of strength to overthrow him. Aubrey had secretly trained himself in his own spacious room for five years. Hiding the equipments everytime that man came home.

He did several hundreds push ups a day consistently. Following FITT Principle to gain moderate strength slowly but surely. He mostly did the workout to increase his flexibility. Because he wanted to run faster. He knew how vast this mansion could be. Almost like a castle some small country could afford.

But there were too many bodyguards securing the area. His attempt to escape mostly failed due to the vast number of black-suit people in every five metres of distance. It was such an overbearing way to trap someone.

It was now a quarter past eleven, most of the servants in the house must have gone to bed by now. Aubrey opened his own door leading outside. Thank goodness it was not locked yet.

Usually, the door will be locked some time past eleven to prevent him from wandering outside of the room. Such a childish way to get a grown man to sleep early. He was used to it now though. He was a caged man after all. Not some normal guy.

Aubrey closed the door swiftly before taking a few steps to the right. He spotted the bodyguards, looking straight at him. They seemed to be asking him where he wanted to go just by looking at their body language. In a nonchalant manner, like he always did, he walked ahead, not minding their heavy stares towards him.

He stepped into the kitchen, went to the fridge to get some water. And he quickly grabbed hold onto a knife at the kitchen counter, hiding it under his shirt. He knew how that man was a paranoia and psycho, caging him but also didn't want to hurt him the slightest.

Even if he broke some rules that man had laid upon him, the man will 'torture' him to the pain unbelievable to people. Only to call in the private doctor to treat Aubrey straight away. His body was not allowed to have scars.

Although many would actually be seen from the endless tortures, that man had always found ways to make it scarless by the help of doctors.

Aubrey walked out of the kitchen, holding a bottle of water. He seemed harmless so the bodyguards didn't pay him any mind. He stepped towards the living room, taking back his PS4 that he purposely left there in the evening.

One of the bodyguards saw him collecting his belongings. He stepped forward to land a hand. Aubrey gave the console to the man without a second thought.

Aubrey then walked back to his bedroom. The man trailed behind him. They took steps to get to the second floor. And then, the bottle Aubrey held suddenly fell out of his hand, creating a noise that could be heard by several other bodyguards at the area.

All eyes went to him. Aubrey held his mouth with his palm desperately. Falling on his knees, while the other hand clutching tightly on his chest. His dark eyes got darker by seconds. And he coughed out blood. Still barely standing at the middle of the stairs, he almost fell over when a group of men ran to his side, ready to take him to the hospital.

Aubrey could not stop coughing as he felt his chest full of needles pricking out his heart and liver. He almost lost consciousness. but he held it in. Thinking how far he had planned this to perfection.
