"EXCUSE ME?"
Alice shook her head a little, blinking dazedly as she stared at the second prince in disbelief. A part of her was glad that she was finished with packing the medical supplies because she knew that if she held the bottle of salve still, it would've crashed onto the ground the second Spade threw his out-of-nowhere question.
Spade, who Alice had always known as someone cool and suave, suddenly grew sheepish. He let go of all pretenses, allowing his pale face to showcase hints of a violently red blush. Turning his line of sight away, he scratched at the back of his head.
"That sounded better in my head," he admitted. "Forget I said that."
Even though she wasn't sure why, Alice felt her head drop in her chest for a split second.
"You can't just propose to a girl and then demand she forgets about it," she said.
