The Assistant Chuunin merely glanced about and let the Mist-ninja pass through the Village Gates.

"Hokage-sama, a jonin from Kirigakure wishes for audience with you."
'Kiri?'
"Do let him in. And bring in a few refreshments for our guest, please." The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen requested the chuunin with a smile.
'A jonin from Kiri. Maybe it is for the boy? If it is, then I will have no choice but to take measures to protect Ryu-Uzumaki.'
A couple of minutes later, the jonin was led into the Hokage's office.
"Welcome to Konoha. I hope our business will lead to profit." The Hokage greeted.
"Hokage-dono. My deep respect and greetings to you." The jonin bowed.
The Hokage gestured the jonin to rise.
"What brings you here...er."
"My name is Yoshimura Satoru. I come on behalf of the Fifth Mizukage."
"Fifth Mizukage?"
"Indeed. The bloodline-users are planning to oust the despot, Yagura Karatachi, The Fourth Mizukage from his post and require the assistance of Konoha."
"I apologize, my ears aren't what they are. Could you please repeat that. I think I heard you say you want to rebel against the Mizukage?"
"No. We want to support the Mizukage."
"You just said you wanted to oust him from his position."
"We want to oust Yagura Karatachi. Not the Mizukage."
"Yagura is the Mizukage."
"Not in the eyes of the Revolutionaries."
"I think you mean 'Rebels', Satoru-san."
The jonin bristled at that comment.
"We do not intend to 'rebel', Hokage-dono. We merely wish for peace."
"Peace achieved through bloodshed always bleeds out with time, Satoru-san."
"We realize that. Which is why, the Revolutionary faction wishes for Konoha's assistance in having a peaceful transition of power."
"...I believe you have a.....formal...proposal with you?"
The jonin smiled for the first time in the conversation. But it wasn't the last time.
