Today was the day, Poseidon felt a growing pain in his heart. He couldn't believe it had been over 16 years since that day. Every year on this day Poseidon would cast a red rainbow glowing throughout the dark, gloomy sky. Poseidon and his two other brothers, Hades and Zeus, would meet up at Hades River of Styx to watch them go by. As Poseidon awoke from slumber, he walked over and combed his thick, silver hair.
" Well, another day goes by and I still don't have her in my eyes." Poseidon spoke with sadness. Hades, on the other hand, was filled with joy!
" Oh come on Brother, she'll come back. It will just take time." Hades said, trying to be sincere.
" Apparently lots of it to." Zeus claimed, knowing he was right.Â
Poseidon didn't say anything as they all walked over so he was able to cast the red rainbow from the little jar. Hades and Zeus watched as it started in a small, bland circle. As it grew, it got richer in the color of red and once it reached the half circle in the sky, Poseidon made it explode with glitter covered in the red shades of the rainbow. The brothers stared in awe of this exotic phenomenon.
Once the rainbow was complete they continued to walked. Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus walked for the next 15 minutes going over their own tragedy. When they arrived at the River of Styx, there was a chair for each of them to sit. They walked and sat where they could get an up close and personal look at the souls going through the river.
"Look, Poseidon I promise you wont see her today." Zeus stated, hoping it was enough to make him feel a little better about what he did.
Zeus was the reason Poseidon was at the river in the first place. He made the law, but because of it his own brother grew in hopelessness. The broken heart Zeus put in Poseidon's chest pained him to this day.
"Zeus, don't even try. We both know it's your fault and nothing can change that." Hades thought, maybe there was another explanation for this. Hades may be the King of Hell, but he had a soft spot for his own two brothers. He didn't want the blame to be put on Zeus. Hades knew their stories, but they didn't know his.
It was quiet for a while. The River of Styx was filled with those souls who had actions frowned upon by the gods. The green goop almost like lava, filled the air with a horrid smell. Poseidon became immune to the smell because this wasn't the first time in a year he had visited the River of Styx. He told himself that he would come here and watch her pass during his free time. He had lots of it because he had no one to be there for. So, he came here a lot and sniffed the air until he was used to the effects. As for the brothers, they were not used to the effects and man were their noses burning.
In the mean time, they had a visitor. A new one to be exact and this so called visitor killed the silence with a loud slam on the door. Breaking it enough for her to slip in. The brothers all jumped and turned around.
"Who are you! Why are you here!" Zeus shouted as he held his hand over his lightning bolts.
Poseidon just stood there in shock as Hades realized that she looked human. Poseidon slowly walked over to the young girl.
"How old are you?" Poseidon asked, questioning his thought.
"15? Why?" The young girl answered, putting down her weapon.
"What's your name?" She asked, slowly walking closer to Poseidon.
"Poseidon." He answered firmly.
"So you're the one who she mentioned." She claimed dropping her weapon in shock.
Poseidon looked at her with caution. Her brown hair smooth as silk, her glowing blue eyes, and her tanned skin. His eyes moved down to her neck and notice a necklace. It's an Amethyst, wrapped in a silver circle, hanging from a pure gold chain.
"Amethyst?" Poseidon questioned.
"How do you know my name?" She said, putting everything together.
"Dad?" She said.
While this was going on Hades and Zeus were wondering how a human was able to enter this place. They had put it together before Amethyst and Poseidon did. Amethyst was able to enter because she was a demigod. Half human, half god.
