Chereads / The Cautious Villain! / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

"Kouta." Saki Murasakino, my childhood friend said to me on a normal school day. "Didn't you know the girl who disappeared two days ago?"

I looked over at Saki, and shook my head, "Of course I'm sad. It's nothing to worry about, I'm sure she's fine."

I paid close attention to Saki's eyes when I said this, if anybody, and I mean anybody figured out my secret, I would have to dispose of them. I'm just hoping it wouldn't be her.

"Still. I know you don't show your emotions very often, and I feel like you're going through some deep stuff. So, if you ever need a helping hand, I'm here." Saki said as she smiled gently at me, causing an ache to run through the depths of my soul.

Hold up! I haven't told my story and how I got to this location in the first place!—it was a normal day of high school, all fine and dandy. Until I got picked up by these weird guys - or I should say, kidnapped.

"Ishigami Kouta, we've got news that your dad bought illegal substances (not stating which) from our Black Market. Your dad had already been dealt with weeks ago, as you may know, but the debt hasn't been fully dealt. Which falls onto your person." a man said through the room I got brought to, tied up within a chair, and men guarding my every angle.

"L- Look, man." I said with a shaky voice, "I don't know what my dad bought, but you don't need to go after me. I'm a perfectly good teenager!"

The strange man gave a smile of confidence, "You think that stops people like us? Hah! You really don't know anything about the real world."

I got a little irritated by that comment and moved my hands in desperation to get out of my captivity—instead of working, it seemed as if they were getting tighter.

…I'm stuck, I won't be able to leave, I'm going to die, no, no—help! please!

I shaked harder, harder, and harder to no avail. Finally, pure despair came out of my mouth when I shouted, "Please, let me leave!!"

The man looked around the room, and finally back at me, "Fine. Go. See what awaits you outside."

He's just letting me go…?

"Hurry up, Ishigami." he said, untying me from the chair.

I got up from the chair, and bolted towards the nearest door I could find. Outside, there was a hallway. I ran down the hallway to a big vault-looking door.

Thankfully, it wasn't a vault door. Just a big door. But, once I made it outside, I saw nothing. No civilization, no roads, nothing—except trees.

I didn't want to get filled with despair, though. So, I ran down the forest I was placed in. I ran, and ran. But, it seemed never ending.

Suddenly, though, my vision got pitch black, and when I opened my eyelids next, I was back. Tied to the same chair, once again.

"Okay, what kind of ninja jutsu did you use to instantly transmite me from that big patch of forest into this tiny chair?"

Ignoring my question, the same man who untied me asked, "You ready to hear us out?"

I thought about it for a minute. "Wait, I don't have a choice, do I?"

"Yes, you do."

"Oh, then—"

"You'll die if you don't comply with us." the man said, interrupting me in the middle of my sentence.

My face lit up in pure fear and confusion, "Excuse me, sir...I'LL DIE?!"

"Yes."

"Ugh...I guess I don't have an option then?"

"Good."

We sat there for a few moments in dead silence. Then, another man spoke, "Ishigami Kouta, you have to kidnap girls that we give you."

"Kidnap?"

"Yes. Kidnap."

"What if I call the cops as soon as I get out of here?"

"Won't work. We can easily erase our presence. Anyways, we could kill you in jail if you get caught, too."

"Excuse me. This is confusing me."

"Don't care."

"Well, fine. I guess?"

"Take him out of here. And you, we'll give you orders on who to kidnap first."

"Wait, wait, wait!"

The man gave a sigh, "Yes?"

"Can I say something I'm not willing to do?"

"Go ahead, Ishigami."

"Don't go after my friend. That's one person I'm not going after. Her name is Saki Murasakino. She's my childhood friend, and I don't want to do anything bad to her."

"Fine. We won't give orders to go after her."

Next thing I knew, I woke up in my bed with a note beside me. It gave me my first victim.

But, putting stuff aside, and passing a couple of gullible ladies, we come here. Saki still talking to me about the girl I had "kidnapped" the night before.

"Hey, are you still listening to me?!" Saki knocked onto my head, causing a little bit of pain to pop up.

"Oh? Yeah, yeah. I am."

Saki gave a sigh. A sigh basically saying, "It's fine, you can talk to me about it."

I put my hand onto Saki's shoulder, and gave a flirty grin, "Hey, it's fine."

"The same old Kouta, I see…"

After Saki said this, she smacked me as hard as she could, 'causing a faint hand mark to form on the side of my face.

"You caught me!" I said, still trying to lighten up the...well, the somber mood.

"Murasakino! Class is about to start up soon. Shut up, and sit down." our teacher said to Saki. The teacher had just walked in, almost immediately told Saki that, too.

After that, nothing in particular happened. Just the teacher telling lessons that the students barely paid attention to. It was an afternoon class, so my peers were mostly sleeping in either obvious sleeping positions, or cleverly placed once's. Either way, it was still a boring class.
