Chapter 10 - Suspension order

"yes uncle, I am leaving now" Abhay said to Madhavan in his phone sitting in his private jet.

"What about Meenakshi?" Madhavan asked.

"She is not coming with me. You know her medication will affect"

"That's right, I wanted to come too. But I am worried about my children's school.." Madhavan's sound was trembling.

"It's okey uncle... You can relax.. you have to inform me as soon as you get any information about that girl.." Abhay reminded him.

"Just leave it to me.. Focus on your grandpa now.. "

"Okey uncle, see you then. Bye" Abhay turned off the phone and closed his eyes and leaned back to the seat.

"I just want to hear the news that the old man is dead" Madhavan murmured and dialed Mohit's number on the phone. It was switched off.

"Saale kameene... (Bi***) " His face trembled with anger.

"Nihan... listen to me please.." Dr Harshad stopped Nihan and Meera, who had been come out in a haste from the OT.

"Sorry Doctor, I have nothing to say or hear.. I am busy right now.. will you please excuse??"

She could not look at his face. Past events have perpetuated the image of him.

"I didn't think you would be so selfish. " A taste of disgust came in Mira's words.

"There is nothing like you think Mira, I left so that you should not face cruel proceedings later from the chairman. To explain things to him" Hearing this they both stared at him in disbelief.

"Yes, if you don't believe it, speak to the chairman."

"Is this true?" Mira asked.

"100 percentage" He replied. Mira started smiling. But Nihan was still silent.

"Come on Nihan Don't be rude.. Didn't he explain the situation?" Mira wrapped her arms around Nihan's back and held it tight. Dr Harshad was looking up at her for a positive respond.

"If that's the case, then thank you. Anyways I am already going to the chairman. See you Mira." Nihan walked away without looking back.

Just as the courage faded as she reached outside the chairman's room. It was as if the legs were tired without finding a direction. The realization that there was no other way to keep her behind led her to move on. She was prepared to face whatever was coming. Without even thinking, she knocked on the door slowly.

"Excuse me sir...,"

"Yes" The reply was quick. Nihan pushed the door open and entered. There was a fifty-five year old man sitting there. A man with wrinkles all over his face. Yet defeating his age, he does everything with just as much energy. There is no slowing down either. No faults.

slowly her eyes crawled over the name on the nameplate. R. Krishnakumar. He lifted his face at Nihan when the silence lingered.

"Dr. Nihan. Come.. and have a seat.." He put some piece of paper on the table he was reading. Nihan remained silent and sat in front of him.

"Do you know what you did?" Krishnakumar asked seriously.

"Saved a life" said Nihan. Krishna kumar laughed out loudly as he heard a joke. Suddenly the laughter faded and left an impression in his face.

"Good job.. I appreciate you. No no.. as a doctor, I am proud of you. But Dr. Nihan.. you know that this is a private hospital. And we have some rules and protocols."

"But.. sir.. I..." Before Nihan could say anything, he shook his hand stopping her.

"If you don't obey it, you know the consequences, don't you?"

"I know.." she said in a nervous tone.

"Then why did you do such an adventurous thing in the operation theatre?" Krishna kumar asked mockingly.

"Not an adventure, sir." Nihan said without hesitation. " Then... I could not remember the rules and protocols at that time. And that I am a doctor. It is my duty to save the life of my patients." The reply made him very angry.

"What if something happened to that patient in the name of your intelligence? " He yelled at her

And soon asked. "Didn't you remember that it was a surgery that only experienced doctors could do? The hospital name would have been ruined by your carelessness"

"But.. Nothing happened by God's will, sir " She was starting to get a little angry at his attitude.

"The point here is that it could have happened..

Who gave you the authority to show heroism in a VIP patient?"

"For me, there is no VIP. Everyone is just a patient." Her face suddenly became smaller revealing her dissent towards his opinion. she have heard many times that the chairman is arrogant. Never once realized this by seeing him at a distance. For the first time, she felt that what she heard was true.

Krishnakumar took a large sheet of paper and stretched it towards Nihan. She bought it from him with suspicion and read it.

"It's your suspension order. After three weeks, there is a lawsuit against you. The rest of your matter will be decided on that day." He explained in a firm voice.
