With the needed gear in his hand, Zio was very happy, the new gear changed how he looked, he went from looking like a poor hunter to a decent looking warrior.
"That will be 7 silver coins!" The Dwarf said asking for the money for the gear.
Zio nodded and opened his money pouch and took out 7 silver coins and handed it over to the shopkeeper.
"So are you going on an adventure or something?" The Dwarf asked.
"No, I am joining the academy, to learn more about stuff"
"I see, it's a good choice, young people like you have a young mind and its good to learn things at a young age, once you get old you cant learn some stuff". The Dwarf said while he had a hint of regret in his voice, it was clear that he wanted to learn something but now he cannot because he is too old.
Zio nodded his head and bid his farewell to the Dwarf and walked out of the shop with all his new gear on him, he put away the rest inside the pouches and freed his hand.
"This is awesome, I have my own gears, they feel so much better than those rags"
He said happily while looking at the people walking on the street, these people seem so busy that they don't even care about the people who just passed by them, they won't even remember their face even if they saw them a second ago, for some reason Zio felt sad.
His whole life till now he has spent his life in a closed environment so he knew everyone in his clan but now as he looks at the outside world and sees how ignorant people are towards each other, Zio didn't like the feeling but he also understood that it is their choice. If someone wants to remember they will and if they don't, they won't.
'You should find a place to stay for today'
Asura informed him while the dragon just stayed silent, Zio nodded his head and walked around the city to find an Inn to stay for the day, it didn't take him long before he came across a decent Inn, from what he could hear from outside, the place is packed with customers.
This Inn also seems to be a restaurant as well, people can have their food right here and rest for the night, Zio walked in and as he anticipated, there are many people inside the gym, most of them are in groups of three or four, some of them are locals of the city and the other are adventurers.
Zio glanced at them to see if they are unique in any way or stand out but he found none, he noticed some adventurers that consisted of young teenagers who seem to be a few years older than him having a chat about their adventure and how they killed some monsters that they came across.
This was the first time Zio heard about monsters, he knew about the existence of Magical beast but never a monster.
'Asura, what's a monster?'
'Hm, Monsters are Magical Beasts that lose control of their magical power and it causes them to mutate into vicious killers who only know to kill. After they mutate they become stronger but they lose their ability to use magic even though their body is filled with it, they are mostly physical during their attacks'
Asura explained.
'Mostly? means a few of them can still use their magic?'
Zio asked.
'Well the ones that can still use their magic are only half mutated so they have some consciousness but that doesn't mean they won't attack you, their hunger for killing is as strong as the other monsters, the only other difference is that the monsters that can use magic are sinister and would likely to torture or play with their prey before killing them, it gives them some kind of pleasure due to their half-conscious state that has been corrupted. Luckily these kinds are very rare, 1 in 10000 so you won't encounter them so easily'
Zio nodded after learning about monsters, they sound scary but for now, Zio has nothing to worry about he is inside the city which allows protection from these kinds of threats.
He walked towards the reception and saw a young teenage girl standing there with a smile on her face, she looks very cute with brown skin with freckles on her cheeks, Zio has no idea how old she is but it didn't matter to him, he walked towards her and looked at her.
"Is there anything I can do for you?"
She asked while looking at Zio, the girl looked at Zio and felt a little shy, Zio was not very good looking compared to those boys from a rich family who have a slim face and fair skin but Zio had an air of superiority and very masculine in nature making him appear very attractive to the ladies.
Some women like a very masculine man while some prefer the soft one, this girl preferred someone like Zio.
"Yes, I want to stay here for a night"
"That will be 10 Bronze coins"
She said with a smile. Zio looked a little troubled as he didn't have any Bronze Coins, 1 silver coin is equal to 100 Bronze coins.
He took out one Silver Coin and passed it towards the girl, she looked at the silver coin in surprise as it was too much and she doesn't have too much change to return to Zio.
"Sir do you need anything else?"
She asked.
Zio "Ah, yes, I haven't eaten at all, I want food, one for now and one for dinner"
Hearing Zio the girl sighed as she still doesn't have enough money to give Zio back.
"Wait a minute, I will go bring your change"
She said and walked into the door behind her to get some change from the Inn owner, she returned soon after and handed Zio 84 Bronze coins, he nodded and took the money and put it away in his pouch.
While Zio was doing this transaction a few people were staring at him with greed in their eyes, they could tell that this boy had a lot of money on him and it would be their lucky day.
Little do they know that it's not their lucky day, not even one bit.
