Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Haru was sweating buckets he didn't want to admit it but he was afraid of ghosts especially demonic things. His legs began shaking and lips were quivering.

"I am not afraid of ghosts!." He shouted

"Don't be afraid, I am not a ghost."

"Hah!, thats what they all say." After being tortured by his family to watch horror movies all the time in their family nights, he learned that ghosts always deny that they are evil just like massacers deny that they are killers. "Who are you!."

" I am the God of life, Phanes."

"God of life?."

He was confused but his death and this so called God of life might somehow be linked. So he tried to remain calm.

The black space where Haru was occupied dissapeard in a instance, the black floor turned into grassy lands that resided animals, trees grew and flowers bloomed.

He was suprised by the quick change of the environment that he momentarily forgot to ask the questions that were floating in his mind.

An old man is seen sitting on a large boulder surrounded by wild animals, the old man had long brown hair and antlers attached on his head that were slightly covered by leaves, he wore leaves that were sewn together on the waist that looked like a skirt.

Haru walked his way to the old man that was sitting, he quickly assumed he was the God of life because the voice sounded like an old mans. It was abit Hoarse and deep.

"Where am I?."

He looked around and was fascinated on how everything looks real even the winds feels real.

"This is my home, to be more accurate this is were souls reside after the persons death."

The old man smiled, his face was full wrinkles and freckles that covered his whole face but his smile was pure and clean that seemed to have no impurities.

"All of the animals here are the souls of the dead people."

The old man pointed at a small rabbit hopping its way behind a tree.

"That small rabbit over there is actually from a childs soul."

The old man felt sad and sorrowful, seeing how the man looked now Haru noticed that even Gods a immortal being had pity towards the short lives of humans.

"Am I really dead?."

The old man nodded his head.

"Follow me."

He stood up and gestured for Haru to follow him, they ambled along the grassy fields and bushy trees passing by wild rabbits and squarriels running along the trees, they stopped walking after they have reached a lake.

"Look into the lake."

Haru was a bit hesitant, he have seen this scene somewhere before in horror movies, when ghosts jump out of the water out of nowhere to scare the living shit out of you but he still poked his head to see what it was.

"I-Is that me?." He was utterly confused to this point what he saw was a floating blue sphere, constantly glowing a shade of blue every two seconds.

"You became a soul after death."

He knew that he would become a ghost after he died but he did not expect he would look this normal, in movies ghosts have blood dripping out of their eyes and mouth. He was kinda glad because that did not apply to him.

The old man became silent and looked at the lake seemingly in thougth, he glanced at Haru before asking a question.

"if you had the chance to get your past life back, will you do anything?."

The old man became serious, his eyes sharp but his tone was a little bit lax.

The question was like a test to Haru being questioned by the God of life it must not be a laughing matter, the old man was serious it did not seem that he was joking nevertheless the chance that he will get his life back was more important to him than anything else. If he had to choose he would rather continue living his past life than to be stuck here and be a animal.

"Yes."

The old man smiled, his usual relaxed attitude came back like nothing happend

"Then let me tell you a story."

"A story?."

His eyes squinted making him look like a cat that saw a mice. his sharp eyebrows curved and his lips pursed.

" A story of a woman who had the power of a soul pact."
