Mr. Cloud stayed as her back turned away from him. "Do you mean this?"
Mrs. Cloud looked back at him, her eyebrow raising. "Are you suggesting that I do not understand the reason for my very own action, or that I'll regret these steps I've taken today?"
Mr. Cloud didn't utter a word, but his face was all the answers she needed to see.
"Ah… I see," she muttered, eyes peering down at him. "You're desperate."
Mr. Cloud's head raises immediately and he locks eyes with his wife. She doesn't blink. She isn't surprised, she isn't flustered, she's not even sad. There was not a grain of emotions that would show that she could possibly regret the situation later.
He stared at her with wide eyes as both his large eyes grip her shoulder. There was still nothing even.
"Now can you see?" Mrs. Cloud asked, looked down as Mr. Cloud slumped down to a squatting position on the ground, "the difference between us?"
Mr. Cloud didn't react.
