"Aye Kaster, we're back! All THREE of us!" Bulka merrily parted the front doors while Falla was gently guiding the goose with her dainty, manicured, hand around his. He was still as naked as the day he hatched, but at least he now had a picnic blanket cloak and few napkins tied around his waist like earlier. It was far from regal looking, in-fact it looked very stupid. Still he proudly marched like he was king of all of Mangle. Too bad Kaster didn't see the goose make his...unique...debut. Instead she was talking to some figures at the front desk.
"Oh, she's talking to some people, and I don't think they are locals! Let's get a close up look and maybe we'll hear some top secret info," Falla rubbed her hands together with an excited curve to her plump lips. Gosling leaned forward, as if he was trying to catch her blink. For whatever reason those eyes of hers seemed to stay constantly squinted.
"You mean ya want to eavesdrop on those people? Eh, whatever, been in trouble for worse. Might as well see what's up!" Bulka agreed without any protest. The three carefully tiptoed their way to the front desk. Then Bulka led them under a raggedy tablecloth. Luckily there were enough holes in the washed out, faded material that it was easy to peak through like a keyhole. The two figures at the front desk were a sight to behold.
One was a gorgeous human lady with dark complexion wearing dressy hat and a tuxedo. Her curly hair was of varying shades of gold and brown, and tried back neatly in a super fluffy ponytail. Her make-up was applied well enough to make Mollie envious, and the stylish shades she wore added an element of mystery to her persona. Meanwhile the human man next to her was practically an open book.
His heavy duty pants were in an even worse state than the tablecloth, even though they were crafted with a much sturdier material. His torso was bare with only a leather harness, and a red bandanna around his thick neck. His skin was tanned red, but looked pale in comparison to the woman next to him. His stylish, russet mustache was the only aspect of his wardrobe that could compete with her classy wardrobe. The clunky riding boots and wide brimmed had didn't help matters, he looked like he should be out herding cattle instead of being by this woman's side. Bulka has heard of an odd pair like them before, and a spark of recognition flickered in her eyes. "Guys, those two over there are a famous husband-wife duo of adventurers! Saxa the Bard and her husband Tex the Ranger! They are top tier adventurers!"
"Shhhh...you can give us their life story after we figure out what's going on, bet it's something important if they are such a big deal!" The look of determination in Falla's face was surprising. Perhaps being a sheltered kid made her more eager to learn of the world around her, the good and the bad. Man she and Kobra Royally screw up by dismissing her as a spoiled brat. Wanting to avoid the guilt, Bulka turned her attention back to the famous couple at the desk.
"I see. So you haven't caught her yet? That's not good. We can't have any Dread Fang remnants wondering about!" Kaster was blowing rings of smoke while the pair looked at her with frowning faces. The whole atmosphere seemed so thick and full of dread.
"Indeed, she is a chaotic one, that's for sure. Ninja class fighters are sneaky, doesn't help she is said to be gifted in chaos magic. Transmutation and all other sorts of trickery are effortless to her, even though it's the hardest pure magic to control. She's not even max level and she's already classified as at the second highest threat level. If she's not exterminated soon it'll be catastrophic!" The bard's words were cool and clam, yet their meaning was anything but. "I just hope that red-headed witch doesn't cost the good people of the three tribes anymore before we can snag her! She stole so much from honest business folk already!"
Falla looked at Bulka and Gosling with her jaw agape. "Guys you don't think..."
Bulka nodded, "yeah...I think that's the lady that 'helped' us earlier."
