CHAPTER ELEVEN
Red Aljhiro Evangelista is a young businessman in the medical field. He's now the young chairman of Evangelista Premier Medical Hospital that was previously managed by his mother Dra. Alexandra Evangelista. They successfully develop a formula that boosts immunity and improves human health.
He just came back from a convention for a new innovation in the medical field and when he comes back, he has a new driver. Benny was her mother's old driver and since his mom was lodging herself in the laboratory to examine and test their new invention and discovery like a madman, he hired him.
He hates traffic like the common scene in the Big City's central business district; he decided to try the subway and left his car to his driver. He was supposed to have a week of day-off but ideas have been dancing in his brain.
He was about to turn left to the subway station when he saw a not so familiar woman walking like a zombie and heading to nowhere.
"She really wears that straight-faced. Oh, zombies do grocery too? Should I update aunt Lina?" A Zombie girl also known as Sassah went inside the grocery store. He doesn't know why he is so drawn to her. Maybe looking at her reminds him he's friend Rick. He was so interested because if she is depressed, she and Rick have different ways of handling depression. It's weird that Rick wore a smiling face full of humor but this woman looked lifeless, best description - a zombie.
He followed her and saw noodles, instant coffee, some toiletries, and bread in her cart. "Dead"
That's what he concluded. He unconsciously headed in the meat section for a kilo of chicken, pork, some fresh veggies, eggs, and milk too. He didn't forget to buy cooked food in case the woman doesn't have cooking stuff or do cooking.
He followed her even after they paid the stuff. They are walking in the alley, following behind her but the woman has strong radar. They're about to reach the old house when suddenly the zombie woman turns in his direction and looks at him.
"Hi" He instantly said as he felt guilty being caught but the zombie woman Sassah, didn't react at all as if she saw nothing and continued walking. Since he was found already, Red increases his speed to catch up with her. "Hi Red here… my name is Red. Benny, my driver and his wife Aunt Lina are living in the room next yours. We saw and heard you this morning… Are you okay,,,?" He stops talking when he sees that he's being ignored but he's a determined man since he's bothered, he'll do everything to feel fulfilled and settle what bothered him.
"Ahm, Sorry, when I saw you… It reminds me of my friend rick… I just fined it weird that he looks like a happy guy yet we found him with a suicide note and gone. I j-just… wanna help..?" He insisted. They already reached the last floor.
"I saw you in the grocery with that unhealthy stuff. Maybe look pale, here I brought some helpful stuff?" He disregards the awkwardness that he felt. He continued but she remained unresponsive.
Sassah ignored the annoying guy stalking her and who talked so much. She went inside her room and was about to close her door when the man blocked it.
"What is the problem with this guy? He embarrassed me saying that he heard me freak out that I'm crazy and suicidal, and bought unhealthy stuffs, and even criticized my face! How dare you!"
"I don't talk to strangers, mister." She said in a very calm and emotionless tone to threaten him.
"Yeah I know. I just bought you some stuff."
"Now, he thinks I'm a beggar?! Give me some face man!"
"I don't accept things from someone I barely know." She only responded but she was interrupted by him again.
"Oh, I'm sorry that I judged you so badly I thought you're too depressed and messed up." Little did she know that the guy also known as Red is ahead of her and already looking inside of her room from the outside and with very keen eyes and extreme observation skills since he's a doctor too. The place is different from the emotion that she's showing off like a broken and messed up person. The place is very simple, neat, and organized.
"What do you mean by that?" Sassah asked coldly. The nerve of this man!
"Well, you look… odd. I am not saying you look bad but you walk like a… - lifeless? "
" A zombie?! I know. Okay, please leave." After a month of numbness, finally her temper erupted. She was about to close the door when Red blocked and raised the grocery bags he was offering.
"I just wanna help….. Your name is….?" She accepted the bags of groceries and stared at the man blankly.
"Thank you for letting me help you since I didn't have a chance to help my friend back before, I hope I can help even a little to you… yeah even a little. I bought some stuff for you to cook and if you don't cook, there are cooked foods here."
After she took the bags to end the discussion as she already felt her eyes closing because of sleepiness and exhaustion.
She just closed the door without saying anything nor thanking him, she put everything on the table but ate one of the cooked foods the guy brought for her.
"Heaven" She misses the hot and delicious real cooked food. It is more delicious than her everyday cup noodles. She's satisfied and full before cleaning herself up and went to sleep.
