Chapter 3 - Cohen

The sound of her pulse was too much for Cohen to focus on sex. He was starving but it can wait. He wanted to savor every moment of it. He pushed her down on the sofa and watched her as she moaned so loud in pleasure. Her naked body glistened with sweat as she moved underneath him matching his thrust in synchronized rhythm. Cohen smiled to himself satisfied as her face contorted in explosive orgasm. She smiled and reached out to him for a kiss. Cohen obliged. He kissed her on the mouth, his kisses trailed down to her neck. He moved slower his eyes turning blood red as his mouth opened wide, razor sharp teeth sprout out of his gums as his teeth sunk into her flesh. She screamed in pain and tried to push him off her. Cohen covered her mouth with his hand and drained her completely to the last drop. Her dead body lay limp beneath him.

"You're incorrigible." Calhun commented as he wiped his mouth from blood. Two girls lay dead beside him on the couch.

Cohen laughed. He adjusted his trousers and put on his shirt. "Is she still alive?" He pointed at the girl beside his brother.

Calhun stared at the girl's delirious eyes as she fought hard to live. He looked away as his hand expertly snapped her neck.

Cohen poured them a drink. He handed the wine to Calhun. "You're like the walking embodiment of depression. Your taste of feast is depressing and your company is not much of an enjoyment either. Cheers to that."

"As much as I like to lose myself as you strongly suggested. I cannot risk our safety. Look what happened in Italy when you suddenly decided to have fun."

"That was unfortunate." Cohen sighed in embarrassment.

"Unfortunate? You turned five low risk girls and let them loose. We were at the brink of exposing our kind to the public." Calhun reminded him.

"Com'on! Don't put all the blame on me. Blame the mainstream vampire craze. Those girls were practically begging for it. Being the gentleman that I am...I was simply fulfilling their wishes." Cohen gobbled his drink and looked at the three drunk junkies sprawled on the floor. "What are you planning to do with them by the way. You ordered too much."

"Let them be. I might get hungry later." Calhun laughed and drunk his wine. "Urgh...this is..." he grimaced.

"Dear brother we have to keep pretending like human or we forget we were once was. To eternal damnation." Cohen chuckled as he finished his drink. His eyes grew wide. Something is amiss. He could not quite figure out what was wrong.

"What's the matter?" Calhun asked.

"Nothing." Cohen smiled reassuring him. He turned to the wooden door barricaded from the outside by a massive marble statue. Aine he thought to himself. Is she waking up?

Earlier at the bar he knew Calhun saw Gael's reincarnated self but he did not want to push his brother. He was always the passive one in the family. He never made any decision, he would wait for Calhun to decide what to do and will back him up.

Cohen knew about Gael's existence for quite some time now. He followed him and watched his every move from afar. He was a painter and a darn pretty good one. He knew that he was waking up, he was remembering Aine. He painted her.

A gust of wind suddenly blew from the outside. It was too strong that it shattered the glass windows.

Cohen grabbed a wooden stake from behind the sofa. He threw two at Calhun who caught it easily. Both armed, they stand guard at the wooden door. Waiting.

The door burst open pushing the marble statue out of the way. Calhun signaled to Cohen to stay alert.

Dead silence - then a slow growl was heard from the inside. The thing from behind the door emerged. It was a dried walking corpse of Aine with blazing red eyes. She sniffed and snarled baring her razor sharp teeth at them. She sniffed the air once more, her long tongue traced the expanse of her mouth hungrily searching for the scent of blood. She found her target. She jumped crawling on the ceiling and into the three still intoxicated junkies on the floor. She brutally ripped their throat as she fed on them one after the other ripping their hearts out in the process.

Cohen grimaced at the scene. "Lucky you were being generous or we would have been her first meal."

"No time for your lame jokes. Stay alert. We can't let her out." Calhun positioned himself on the doorway.

Slowly Aine's body changed, flesh started to grow into her dried complexion. Her skin became supple so was her long red hair. She was beautiful once more. She tossed the last girl, still hungry. Her red eyes scanned the living room and stopped on Cohen.

"Com'on! Really?" Cohen stepped back. Damn. He knew he was no match to her.

Calhun try to corner Aine but she evaded him easily. She snarled angered and attacked him in return. Her long nails digged deep into his flesh and threw him hard right through the marble statue.

Cohen put down his wooden stake.

"No!" Calhun shouted at him.

" We can't contain her. No other way." Cohen beckoned Aine to attack him.

Aine jumped on him, her teeth sunk sucking in violently through his neck. Cohen with his last remaining strength tackled Aine pinning her to the floor. "Now!" Cohen shouted.

Calhun has no choice. He drove the stake right through Cohen's back piercing it all the way down to Aine's chest - paralyzing them both in an instant.

"You idiot!" Calhun pulled Cohen's body off the stake making sure it fastened safely on Aine's chest.

Cohen groaned in pain. He was bleeding too much.

"I told you not to do it!" Calhun put his hand on his wound stopping the bleeding.

Cohen managed a laugh. "If I die brother. I would very much like a king's burial." He coughed out blood. The wood was like a poison to them, it hindered their healing capabilities. He laughed again, so this was pain feels like. The idea of death was surprisingly not that hard to handle he thought to himself as he drifted off unconscious.
