Chapter 3 - Double gated dungeon

Astasia was the last to be awake and it was nice waking up peacefully, "I haven't slept good in a while," she yawned while stretching her slender arms. After getting off the bed and heading towards the kitchen, Kai was drinking coffee while reading something on his tablet.

"There's no breakfast?" She pouted with half of her eyes open. Despite having a messy hair, she still looked amazingly beautiful, especially with the morning sun reflecting off her, but Kai didn't react to her beauty and continued on with his business, "I'll cook us breakfast then," she yawned again while taking out a pan and cracking eggs, but a sudden wave of mana immediately woke her up.

Even Kai had sense the mana, so he immediately gotten ready in his room while Astasia followed, "I'm coming with you," she says, "No. You stay here," he told her as he dialed a number on his phone, "Jaena, have you set an appointment with the recent dungeon? What rank is it?"

"One of them is a rank C and the other is a rank A. I have set an appointment with the latter."

As Kai was preparing to go out, he realized that Astasia had disappeared. He could only have one reason and that is because she had probably also sensed the unfamiliar mana, "I don't recall her having any mana?" He thought to himself, "What?" Jaena replied seeing as they were still on call.

Without much choice, Kai left her alone and took this chance to cut off ties with her. If she wants to leave, then it's her decision to do so. It will only benefit Kai since no one will finally bother him, "H-hello, Sir Kai," three new faces from the guild greeted Kai properly, "Don't be so formal. Have you signed our name?"

"Yes"

"Good. Then let's go."

Before heading inside the dungeon, Kai looked around to see if he would spot Astasia anywhere but he didn't, so he went inside the dungeon with a few worries stuck in his mind. She won't be reckless and go inside a dungeon right? After all, she's that type of person.

"A rank C... This is a double gated dungeon..." Astasia mumbled to herself as she went inside. This was a new dungeon that recently appeared, so no one was able to locate it right away, especially because it was located at an isolated area. Moreover, she was sure whose mana that belong to.

The moment she stepped inside, a group of small sized raptors had been lurking in the surrounding area and immediately attacked her. These being were weak... Worthy of being classified as rank C monsters, but they were quite annoying since they had always traveled in groups and can sometimes be agile, "I haven't seen you guys in a while," Astasia smirked.

She skillfully dodged every attempted sloppy attack from the raptors and then cutting off their only two feet that keeps them running. Despite being agile and large in number, without their feet, they are useless. After she killed every last one of them, glowing crystals were dropped as their body faded and turned into ashes, "Mana crystals? What the hell is a mana crystal doing inside their body?" She thought.

When she was still in Aether, magic crystals were often use for either traveling or daily life necessities such as lights or water pump. Basically, it acted as an electricity but in magic version, "I'll just keep these for now," she told herself and putting them inside her dimensional storage. In a way, these mana crystals are important and useful. Not only is it used for daily necessities but it can also act as a mana to whoever has it.

For every monster she disposed of, their body contained mana crystals. In Aether, these are usually mined, yet they're inside the bodies of the monsters as if someone had intentionally placed them inside, "For what reason would they even put mana crystals in their body anyway?" Astasia thought to herself.

Without realizing it, she was now inside the second dungeon gate. The ranking raised to rank B and the monsters at the entrance were more stronger than the first gate, "I need to get stronger to be able to summon my guardians," she mumbled to herself and commenced her attack.

When she was in Aether, she was able to summon an army of guardians. They protected the planet of Aether, city of Titans, but the only problem was... The one who wielded that power had a bad temper and a rather practical view on life. Whenever people dared to test her patience, a war would erupt. Even with the tiniest and irrelevant problems, a war would break out.

Astasia continued on fighting and fighting until the boss was left. A boss whose face oddly seemed familiar to her, "Ah. Weren't you that weird looking gorilla when I unlocked my first guardian? Looks like it will happen again," she smiled, grabbing a nearby sharp object to fight the gorilla. She wasn't equipped with anything, so anything sharp will have to suffice just as she had been doing.

The humongous gorilla attacked her, but because of its large size, the agility of it has decreased. After all, it's not so easy to move around with a huge body like the gorilla, "Why are you on this planet, Queen Astasia ?" The gorilla spoke in its language after being defeated.

"This is my homeland. Tell me, why the hell are you guys here," she demanded an answer as if it wasn't an option. Although her voice was low, her tone was scarier than ever.

The gorilla was suffocating from her murderous stare but he knew he had no choice but to speak, or else his head would be gone instantly. No, he knew he would die either way, "By the time you find out why... It would have already started!" The gorilla laughed with it's disturbing voice, so Astasia pierced the sharp object on its head, "...be prepared..." were his last words before the boss completely died.

One thing Astasia hated the most was being left hanging on information. So when the gorilla boss said such words, she furiously stomped on the ground, leaving a huge crater that was almost half a mile wide, "Be prepared for what exactly? Ugh! God damn it this is annoying!"

At the same time she roared, a man appeared in front of her and kneeled, "My queen, I have come b....ack," her first guardian, Jack, gawk at her odd appearance. She was still beautiful but seeing her own master wear something other than a sexy red dress stunned him. It felt as if he was no longer looking at a thorny rose but an innocent sunflower due to her yellow sundress.

"About time. What about the others? Can't I at least summon your sister?"

"No you cannot my queen. You need to expand your mana storage. Just a little bit more stronger and you will be able to summon not just my sister but everyone else."

"What a hassle. Whatever. You wanna see how my world is like?"

"Am I allowed to do such thing my queen?"

"Yeah. If you stop acting like that. Also, call me Astasia. We're not in planet Aether," she says, causing Jack to grow hesitant. Calling her by her real name felt as if he was offending his master, so it bothered him if he didn't address her superiorly.

Regardless, he will try his best.
