I woke up on my bed and I realized I wasn't at my place last night, instead I was still at the house Riku and I lived in. I walked out of my room and went downstairs and saw Riku watching the news. It was pictures of us from last night at the cafe. Yes there were questions asked, but we were also labeled ad the most flawless soon to be married couple ever since our engagement pictures were released.
"I see your watching the news." I said walking down the stairs.
"Yeah, they have pictures of us all over the news." He said standing up.
"It's okay, I don't mind." I said.
"Why don't you get cleaned up and I'll make something for us to eat." He said and I nodded. I went back upstairs and showered. After I got done and changed into a light blue dress my phone started buzzing. It was non-stop text messages from Himari and the she called me.
"Aia, your novel is selling out fast! It's now the number one book worldwide!" She shouted through the phone.
"Wow, that's amazing!" I said with excitement.
"Jinx wants to hold a book signing next week!" She said.
"I'm good with that." I said.
"Also producers and directors want to meet with you about your novels with movies and so forth in three hours." She added.
"Okay, thank you Himari." I replied and she hung up. I walked out of my room and saw Riku standing there.
"Was that about your book?" He asked.
"Yes it was. Jinx is holding a book signing next week and in three hours I have to go meet with producers and directors about my other novels." I stated.
"That's awesome Aia. congratulations!" He smiled and hugged me. I hugged him back and we both went downstairs to eat. He bought me to the table and like he said. He made breakfast for us. It was goldenberry pancakes with maple syrup and fresh scrammbled eggs and turkey bacon with glasses of orange juice.
"Riku, you didn't have to do this." I said.
"Yes I did." He said and came up to me.
He held my hand and kissed me on the cheek. We sat down and started eating and wow these pancakes tasted really good like it was so fluffy and the moment I ate it, it melted like soft butter. I couldn't ask for anything more better then this.
"Do you like it?" Riku asked.
"I do. It tastes amazing." I smiled at him
"I'm glad you like it." He smiled back. After we got done eating he took the dishes to the sink. He startes the dishes while I cleaned up the rest of the table and kitchen. A few minutes later we got done cleaning up and we sat down and talked for a bit until I had to go. I grabbed my purse and Riku offered to take me there since he also has to go to LSC. We locked the doors and got into the car and put our seatbelts on and left.
"I might be coming home late. I have to finish filming today." Riku said.
"Okay." I said.
The rest of the car ride was quiet to the point where I could hear grasshoppers and crickets. He drove a bit faster than usual but I was fine with it. After driving for a little bit he dropped me off at ShinHigh.
"Be safe Aia." He smiled.
"You too." I smiled back and watched him drive to LSC. I sighed and went inside and was greeted by Himari.
"There you are! I've been looking for you! You have three Directors waiting for you in your office to discuss about your other novels!" She excitedly said.
"That's great! Who are they?" I asked going in the elevator with her.
"There's Mori Hashimoto from T.J Entertainment, Aoki Hasegawa from LSC Entertainment, and Harada Takeuchi from Jinx's sister company Nakamura Studios." Himari explained as the elevator doors opened.
"I'm kinda nervous now." I slightly smiled.
"Don't be Aia. Everything will be okay." She smiled and opened my office door and there I saw the top 3 directors in the business sitting in my office.
"Hi I'm Aia, it's a pleasure to meet you guys." I smiled.
"And it's a pleasure to meet you too." Director Hashimoto said.
"It's an honor to meet you." Director Hasegawa said.
"Its ncie to meet you as well." Director Takeuchi smiled.
After the introductions, we started talking and getting down to business. They all wanted to turn my novels into movies and dramas because of the romance and instense action and how the vibes of each characters are on and off with each other. Director Hashimoto wanted to do "I've Loved You Once", Director Hasegawa chosed to do "One Last Time", and Director Takeuchi decided on "The Night that Started it All". They were some of my successful novels as well and I went over the details for each of the novels with them and they seem to understand it jsut fine.
"Thank you Miss Aia." Director Hashimoto said.
"Yes thank you so much." Director Takeuchi smiled.
"We won't let you down." Director Hasegawa said.
We shook hands with one another and Himari escorted them back down to the lobby while I stayed in my office. I started thinking about my wedding day which was in two weeks. I was excited, but I also don't know how Riku feels about it and I udnerstand we are doing this for our parents and their business deal, but it would be nice if our marriage was filled with love and passion too. I decided to call Riku because I wanted to know if he feels the same, but it went straight to voicemail. I tried again and again, but it kept going to voicemail. I know that he's shooting and in the middle of scenes, but he usually picks up after the first call.
"Aia!!" Himari shouted while slamming my door open.
"What is it?" I asked looking at her.
"It's Riku.." She said.
"What happened?!" I asked intensely while runnning towards her.
"He.....he got into an accident." She said finally getting the words out of her mouth.
"What...how?" I asked.
"He and some other people were filming a scene where they use actual guns instead of props and fake ones and one of the pulled the trigger on accident and the bullet hit him in the chest." She explained.
I couldn't comprehend what Himari was saying and ran out the door. I took the stairs and ran out of the lobby. I didn't want to believe what she was telling me. It's impossible. This has to be a joke right?! He just got back from New Zealand and now they're telling me he got shot! I could feel my tears rolling down my cheeks and the water was making my eyes blurry which made me run into someone.
"I'm so sorry." I said.
"It's no bigge. Aia! Are you okay?" The person said and I realized the voice out of nowhere. It was Director Reo's voice.
"Where is he?! Where is Riku!" I shouted with tears flowing down my face.
"I came here to take you to him. Please follow me Miss Aia." He said and took me into a car. He told the driver to take us to the hospital where Riku was in. Director Reo gave me tissues to clean myself up with and I did. The ride wasn't that long in fact it was just about 10 minutes give or take. I opened the door and ran inside. I looked at my surroundings and saw Cherry and the rest of the crew in front of the surgery room.
"How is he?!" I asked running up to Cherry.
"He's still in surgery, but other than that..I don't know." She said with a sad look.
"I'm so sorry Aia." Sun Hee said coming up to me.
"What exactly happened to him?" I asked Sun Hee.
"While we were gettin gready to shoot the next scene, they were using real guns and one of them accidently pulled the trigger and it hit him in the chest. The bullet was close to his heart and he was bleeding so much and so fast. He was bleeding out so fast on set and I didn't know if the ambulance would arrive in time. I'm so sorry." She said.
I smiled at her with grief and sadness and saw that she actually meant what she said. She went to go sit down by Aki and Arata, while Director Kazashi was informing Riku's parents about the situation and Director Reo was handling the media and the press outside. Cherry led me to a seat to sit down and offered to get me some coffee but I kindly rejected. Riku and still in the surgery room and it was almost sunset. I stayed in front of the surgery room waiting for him while the others left to go home. I couldn't sleep without knowing if Riku was gonna be okay or not, so I stayed there for the rest the rest of the night.
