Gary sat in front of the branch master silently for a moment. "I know the identity of the Machinist, I know what his companion looks like, I know what some of his weapons do, and I know where they're headed." He said, leaning back. "That's my 'oh-so-important' information."
The branch master was now left in a slightly disadvantageous position. He had just dissed Gary, who claimed to have information on a new Machinist.
'We need this information. We can't have an unaffiliated machinist running around again, and I also can't let Gary run around with this information.' The branch master thought for a moment. "I'll pay 150% more if you don't tell this to any other faction or independent." He said, knowing full well that he was going to kill Gary as soon as he left the room.
"200%." Gary responded, his white teeth showing unsettlingly behind his blackened lips.
"All right. Tell me."
Happy with the promise of money, Gary began outlining what he knew. "First, his weapons range from long-range, single target kills, to weapons of mass destruction. The clouds above are a product of one such weapon going off." He began with capabilities. "I'd say his comprehension is somewhere around 80%."
"80%?! He's a monster!" The branch master exclaimed.
"His defense is just as good. The explosion of one of his weapons created radiation and he was able to make a shield for it. I'm certain of this because he wouldn't enter the wasteland he created if he didn't." Gary replied smugly.
"You mean to tell me that this brand-new Machinist is capable of creating radiation?" The branch master said disbelievingly.
"Why do you think I'm so burnt? Apperently, radiation can burn things." Gary seemed annoyed at the question.
"Go on." The branch master began to sweat at the thought of someone so green wielding such power.
"He has a companion who is a Wood Elf. Her capabilities are unknown, but she seems to be just as powerful." Gary said, adding a warning. "I also learned that they are searching for another companion who was driven out of a village called Oregon. I have never heard of it, but from snippets of their conversation, it was the new Machinist who made the village."
The branch master began sweating more. Having a village meant the new Machinist possibly had a standing army.
"Anything else?" He gulped and asked.
"Yeah. He's about thirteen-" Gary began, but was interuppted by the branch master.
"HE'S ONLY THIRTEEN AND HE'S THIS POWERFUL?" He burst out.
"Yes. Let me finish." Gary said irritably. "He survived a fire that left him with distinctive features. He's bald, and on his skin there are very large discolourations that catch your eye. Oh, and his name is Salem"
"No surname?" The branch master asked.
"Not from what I heard." Gary replied. "That's all the information I have as of yet. I intend to go and investigate him a bit more. Last I knew they headed South."
Nodding to himself, the branch master waved his hand and an assassin beheaded Gary.
"Send out two teams. One is to search for the village Oregon in the south, and the other is to search for Salem, he's an incredibly powerful new Machinist so be on your guard."
An assistant mustered up his courage to ask the branch master a question. "What should we do once we find Salem?" He asked, shaking in his boots.
"Kill him" The branch master replied with finality. "And make sure he has no offspring too. With how powerful he is as a thirteen-year-old, his bloodline must be strong. Remove any potential offspring."
